Yeah that would compound the lie. |
| FCV should have just said she was going to Stanford. More bang for the buck |
And McLean could have just said they were a shorter commute to practice than FCV for her last year of soccer. |
And helped her get a commitment to an Ivy League school and soccer program ranked 111 places above what FCV got her |
Only the ranking can be confirmed, you cannot definitively prove what role McLean had, if any, with her getting accepted into Princeton. In fact what role did either club have with her HS grades and standardized test scores to qualify for admittance to Princeton on academic grounds? Likely zero. Just getting into the school is an accomplishment that neither club can claim ownership over. So just stop, all McLean did was offer her a seat when the music stopped playing. |
Actually the commitment can be confirmed. She was at McLean when she committed to Princeton. They should have just congratulated her separately. Putting her in their list of commits is a lie. |
| The timing is bad for FCV. This was the week that the girls signed NLIs. Is FCV saying she signed the NLI with their club? So strange. |
Of course the commitment can be confirmed. The point was that McLean's actual role in her getting it at Princeton aside from her larger body of work that was also time spent at FCV is less clear. Yes, McLean was her last stop of Musical Soccer Clubs but when in doubt I will give the credit to the player before I'll give it to any club. She did the hard work on and off the field. In the scheme of things what club claims her development is just silly at this point. In fact perusing the college commitments between McLean, BRYC and FCV all the clubs boast lots of commitments, and many D1 but there is a distinct difference in the schools that kids are getting accepted. BRYC probably has the most mid level D1 commits while FCV has a few mid level and some high level D1 commits while McLean boasts IVY and higher Academic school commits. One would think aaaah haaaa! McLean Soccer Club is the golden ticket to Ivy League! That is likely only half right. Living in the McLean zip codes has several socio-economic benefits that play a pretty substantial role in gaining acceptance to Ivy League schools and highly selective colleges. |

At #24 Princeton would have been the best soccer program for 2019 at FCV if they could have claimed her. After that they drop to #43 Virginia Tech as the next best.
McLean can claim for 2019 a better class before she came over. At the top McLean has a #3 UNC commit. McLean is the better program for her and probably helped her improve her recruitment. |
| I wouldn't say any club is putting more in certain schools, every club has spells where there are players going to top schools and then spells where they are going to mid level schools, McLean are going to have a ton of top recruits in the 2019-2020 classes, BRYC Will follow that up with amazing 2021-2022 classes. FCV has plenty of very good recruits heading to college this summer. |
BRYC has a lot of top recruits in college right now, including the big 10 player of the year & USYNT Player Kaleigh Riehl at Penn State. |
Here's her highlights/recruitment video which she posted this spring, in which she lists herself as an FCV player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxz-VdsPTmE On the other hand, McLean has taken credit for her college commitment based on a total of three months she spent with them this season. |
| Princeton often recruit in our area, they have the u19 captain at BRYC committed. |
Really, like who (besides Riehl) --- I checked the their website, not a lot (if any) of girls at high end top 25 schools right now ---- which is where I would expect to find top recruits. Is their website info inaccurate? |
Exactly how did McLean improve her recruiting? |
