Since there's topics for both the boys and girls DA season, I thought it would be good to have a thread on the Girls ECNL season with its start this past weekend.
Based on the results of just one or two games, it seems that (on a club level, and not individual teams) the rankings are: 1. McLean (*6-4-0) - generally better performances than Loudoun against the same teams 2. BRYC (3-2-1) - a good weekend but against poor competition (VDA) 3. Loudoun (*2-4-1) 4. VDA (2-3-1) - looks like the younger teams are stronger (or BRYC's younger teams are weaker) (*some results have been posted yet) I suspect after next weekend, Richmond will lay claim to the second spot but since they didn't play last weekend, I haven't ranked them yet. |

Richmond are not strong across the board 1-2 teams that will compete for a spot at playoffs |
I'm in agreement on most of these. U18/19 - The McLean 01s were dominant last year and now combined with what's left of last year's national championship u18/19 team and the return of a national team level goalie (not that last year's goalie was bad), this team will be in the hunt for another national title. Richmond will fight for 2nd with one of the Carolinas teams. U17 - McLean was the better team last year and should be this year too I'd pick Richmond 2nd and BRYC 3rd. U16 - BRYC should be as stronger or stronger than last year and so will win again. U15 - Of the Virginia teams, I expect Richmond will continue to do the best but I don't expect them to win the conference. |
17 age group is tough to call, Richmond won't be close to the top. McLean BRYC and NCFC all won against eachother last year and got to nationals, throw in a strong Loudoun group and CESA. 02 age group is most competitive. This weekend McLean play BRYC |

I know it's just one game, but McLean and Loudoun played the same team and McLean won 4-0 vs Loudoun winning 1-0. I don't see Loudoun hanging with them.
Also NC Fusion shut out both McLean and Loudoun last weekend so they're in the driver's seat to win the age group. https://twitter.com/02_fusion/status/1036343829107036160 BRYC plays Richmond Saturday and McLean Sunday; with VDA taking on McLean Saturday and Richmond Sunday so we'll have a much better feel how the VA teams stack up. Again, my expectation is that, on the club level, Richmond will be in second. |
| RICHMOND 18/19 and 15s will get to nationals, the 17s are really not good |
| VDA and Loudoun will be hurting in the older age groups this year |
| Why are Loudoun and VDA hurting? |

BRYC v Richmond scores
13s BRYC 6-1 Richmond 14s BRYC 0-4 Richmond 15s BRYC 0-3 Richmond 16s BRYC 2-1 Richmond 17s BRYC 2-0 Richmond 18/19 BRYC 2-2 Richmond Another 3-2-1 day for BRYC. |
