FCV should have just said she was going to Stanford. More bang for the buck
And McLean could have just said they were a shorter commute to practice than FCV for her last year of soccer.
And helped her get a commitment to an Ivy League school and soccer program ranked 111 places above what FCV got her
Only the ranking can be confirmed, you cannot definitively prove what role McLean had, if any, with her getting accepted into Princeton. In fact what role did either club have with her HS grades and standardized test scores to qualify for admittance to Princeton on academic grounds? Likely zero. Just getting into the school is an accomplishment that neither club can claim ownership over. So just stop, all McLean did was offer her a seat when the music stopped playing.
Actually the commitment can be confirmed. She was at McLean when she committed to Princeton. They should have just congratulated her separately. Putting her in their list of commits is a lie.
Of course the commitment can be confirmed. The point was that McLean's actual role in her getting it at Princeton aside from her larger body of work that was also time spent at FCV is less clear. Yes, McLean was her last stop of Musical Soccer Clubs but when in doubt I will give the credit to the player before I'll give it to any club. She did the hard work on and off the field. In the scheme of things what club claims her development is just silly at this point. In fact perusing the college commitments between McLean, BRYC and FCV all the clubs boast lots of commitments, and many D1 but there is a distinct difference in the schools that kids are getting accepted. BRYC probably has the most mid level D1 commits while FCV has a few mid level and some high level D1 commits while McLean boasts IVY and higher Academic school commits. One would think aaaah haaaa! McLean Soccer Club is the golden ticket to Ivy League! That is likely only half right. Living in the McLean zip codes has several socio-economic benefits that play a pretty substantial role in gaining acceptance to Ivy League schools and highly selective colleges.
