Have you ever been personal friends with a seriously famous person?

They vacation together (with families) twice a year, and they talk all the time on the phone. The fed friend of mine said they met sort of randomly and the famous guy asked for his info and kept in touch. He thinks that the famous guy just liked the fact that my friend is a normal person with a relatively cool job that has nothing to do with the celebrity scene. In any case, they get along famously.

Omg you have to give more detail that this. These posts are so lame.

I know Lin Manuel Miranda from elementary school and high school. We keep in touch, but only in a Facebook kind of way.

I know Greta Gerwig from college. It’s been awesome seeing such good things happen to her this year.

Some of these are cool but 90% of them are not “seriously famous” and the posters are barely friends with them.

I was on a first name basis with Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Sadly, not friends, but I worked in a Nashville coffee shop in grad school. I knew their whole family’s drink orders. Keith once told me where he’d be playing a pop up show later that day (a few hours before it was public info). They’re pretty delightful people.

I know a couple of kinda sorta well known musicians - like we'd grab dinner before the show at the 930 club, and get our kids together once or twice a year. an author who did the talk show rounds. I used to know Maya Angelou pretty well, but we didn't keep in touch, and I didn't even go to the funeral. some pundit types. a couple of politicians.

I don't really consider any of them "seriously famous" and I suspect they only occasionally get recognized when out and about. It's not really an issue, other than people occasionally try to get me to get autographs or something for them.

Stay cray, DCUM.

I haven’t been on DCUM in forever but this was the first post I read. I was thinking the exact same thing. ?

I just cannot understand why the reluctance to name the names of these public figures. It's so annoying, and it makes your posts pointless, this is an anonymous board...

Pretty sure Richard Spencer IS on this website. Have you seen the threads asking Jewish people to self-deport to Israel?

Did you interrupt one of Rollins' political rants? Did you become gym bros with him after?

First week of school in a new school for me. He targeted me for a after school fight his name is actually Henry Garfield. He didn't know I was a very good wrestler. He punched me first and I beat him semi conscious ( out of fear) I was worried I killed somebody my first week of school but he was ok. He moved on to pick on other people.
