| Have invites gone out yet for GA? They held one session whereas it looks like some other clubs are at least promoting 2-3 sessions. |
You cannot use the turf at TSJ for two ID sessions because they need to rent it to Maret for football. |
Some offers are out but a lot of girls are going to other ID sessions to see if they can get on a better team. |

I want to share a concern regarding Coach 22. With only a short amount of experience—about six months coaching full 11v11 teams and no meaningful playing background—he is now running two‑hour ID sessions and having the girls do sprints as part of tryouts. In my opinion, this approach does not reflect a healthy or development‑focused environment.
If you’re considering where to place your child, I strongly encourage you to carefully evaluate whether this club’s leadership has the background and experience needed to support true player growth. |
| I have boys...what's the issue with sprints for girls tryouts? |
If a coach is timing kids’ sprints as part of tryouts, that’s a red flag. Conditioning is normal, but treating young players like they’re preparing for an NFL combine is not development‑focused. I’d think twice about any environment that prioritizes that approach. |
If your DD doesn’t like sprinting for Coach 22 then maybe she isn’t ready to get an offer to join Premier Performance. |
Its a try out, though. Timing sprints at a tryout is normal on the boys side for lots of different sports, not just soccer. |
| Ya, it's kind of dumb. Valderrama, Pirlo, Akers, they would be at risk of not making it because they aren't fast, whereas there were some returning "fast" players there who had the first touch of a brick... |
|
Its not like the sole factor is speed on who makes the team. TSJ sucks but I don't see the big deal with sprints at a *tryout*. |
So all Double Deuce needs to do is remove the timed sprints and everything will be ok? What ‘development-focused’ activities would you have had the players do at a 2 hour ID Session? Thanks |
| Who wants to bet Coach 22’s face ends up on all six teams next season? 😂 |
|
I disagree. Timed sprints are better than arbitrary scrimmages where 100 kids scrimmage for 10 minutes, then the coaches eagle eyes separate out the best kids to scrimmage for spots on the 1st and 2nd teams. Then offers were given after watching those scrimmages. If a kid came from a rival club and from a 1st team, they automagically got a 1st team offer.

| its so strange to me that someone with basically ZERO experience is being given this job. |
