how about this? the persistent under- and defunding of local and state government in Texas contributed to a weakened infrastructure with no one at the local level cognizant that the camp did not have reliable WiFi service and needed to be contacted by a landline. thoughts?

That doesn't mean I'm gleeful, or that I don't find the tragedy horrifying, or that I wish for it to happen. I'm just realistic about what is driving this. The GOP castigated FEMA and Biden during hurricane relief efforts to the extent that FEMA workers going door to door to help were being shot at.
Trump decimated NOAA and the National Weather Service and now our domestic safety is at risk.
