You don't know what happened during the young woman's life, before she left for trip, during this break from school, the night into morning, right before group separated, then what happened next and so on. Nor the condition of this young woman. Don't make ignorant assumptions about her culture either.

Nor should we about the young man. Nobody knows anything.

They were probably all wasted; her friends probably weren’t capable of making the best decisions. Parents need to stop glorifying alcohol.

And people, please please read about destination location country before you go. For example, everyone traveling to DR resorts should know that you should never drink alcohol that's in the hotel lobby. according to CNN : "group of Americans – Konanki, five other women and two men – had been drinking in the hotel’s lobby around 3 a.m., a source with the Dominican National Police." Did they provide that video footage. If so, believe it, if not, who are you going to believe?

I said the same thing to my husband.

I bet the friends didn't want to get involved because of their questionable us citizenship status

It's taken 3 days for this to hit the media. She's a lovely, brilliant young woman - hope they find her.

The FBI is there.

Shouldn't the Indian FBI be there not the us?

I am Dominican american and if she got into playa arena gorda in punta cana she likely drowned. That beach is notorious for its strong currents. There’s red flags to warned bathers. In January 4 tourists drowned on that same beach. Their bodies were recovered.

What? The friends in this case could be seen as suspects possibly why they don't want to get involved, or have been instructed not to if they have someone representing them. no one knows what actually happened.

Report on the drownings in the same area in January 2025.

They're not suspects. She is an adult who did adult things alone. It's not cool that they did not stay together but that is not a crime.
