I'm not a big fan of beets.

I went with a student exchange program years ago. We were in Russia for about three weeks. All the other kids in my group lost so much weight because of the food, including the beets. Not me. I think I gained weight. Story of my life. I can eat beets, I can eat mostly anything. It served me well in my 20s when I traveled a lot for work.

We have a North Carolina beach house that we rent out for much of the summer. Business has been down the last couple of years after booming during Covid when people couldn't/didn't travel internationally.

We're wondering if maybe business will pick up because, even though renting a beach house isn't cheap, at least you save on flights by staying in country?

Or, we live our lives differently. We have always planned for job loss. We live under our means, paid off our small house and have no debt.

I’m a single mom of one. Doing the same, since I have no idea and little confidence for what’s in store for our country’s economy this year. We may do one small inexpensive cruise or beach trip this summer to celebrate high school graduation, but that’s it.

Saying you are a single mom means nothing as you could have a very high income.
