Is this clip really demonstrative of how Trump voters feel about the trans community?

What possible benefit could it infer upon you? It is beyond hard. People discriminate against you at every step. They judge you. They jeer in the streets. Kids alienate you. You are self conscious every second you are out in public. You are told you are weird and gross and euw.

WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT unless they had no choice? That's what liberals dont get about the republican argument.

It's a mental illness that thrives on narcissism and attention-seeking. You don't get it because you're (relatively) normal.

ok - this is now making sense. I literally did not realize that they think it's a mental illness.
although - EVEN IF your position is that it's a 'mental illness' (that oddly lots of kids just 'have' even those from republican families), then what's the solution? Ignore and hope it goes away? do you have some kind of magic anti trans pill you're pushing?
Also many many kids are trans and narcissism is not really possible in kids - which you might know if you had ever actually looked into the research behind all this which i'm sure you have not.

Are you seriously this clueless?

Have you ever heard of social contagion? That being trans is cool and accepted now, and a way for vulnerable kids who are suffering to feel seen, lauded and accepted?

No, you don't ignore it and hope it goes away. You call it out for what it is - a dangerous mind game that leads to permanent, horrific body alterations and lifelong pain and suffering. And you stop the positive promotion in schools, the media etc. under the guise of faux compasion.

Wow. THIS is the theory you’re going with?

But ok - worst case scenario: everyone can just make up what gender they feel like they are. So what? What’s the worst that can happen? What’s your biggest fear? And do you really think we all will? Why? Would you? I wouldn’t.

Sweetheart, if you want to "make up a gender" that involves wearing purple feathers and cackling like a duck, go right ahead. You can follow whatever crazy gender whim you desire, at any time you want. (You won't work for me, or be hired by my company, but that's another story.)

What you will not do is influence my children and, as much as I can continue to work to prevent it, influence any children. You will not tell them or lead them to believe that any of this is normal, or right, or OK, or good, or the solution to their problems, or any other tactic you dream up.

Adults - go for it. But you're not coming for the kids.

… because you think they’ll also want to be nonbinary forever? Because they heard someone else is?
Firstly - it’s not contagious.
Secondly - I am not your sweetie. So you can step down there.
Even if that happened. Even if everyone on the planet made up a gender. So what? If it made them happy.
I can’t imagine they would. But if they did - what’s the worst that could happen?
To me, kids killing themselves bc they have a parent like you who refuses to see what’s in front of their eyes (if it’s the case they are trans) or makes them feel there is something deeply wrong with them or throws them out is a much much bigger and more evidence based concern than the weird one you cooked up.

This is the real problem maga has with transgender people. They think it’s contagious (unlike measles which is harmless) and that they can will away the possibility of having a “different” kid and all the judgment that they will get. They don’t see that acceptance is the way through the conundrum.

Until they have a suicidal trans kids and half the time those end up here in nyc on our doorstep where they often thrive bc no one is making them feel like an a****** all day

Ok cool but why the need to disrespect someone? If someone asked me to call them dodo bird I would oblige. What’s the harm? It’s ok if people disagree with me I can still show them basic respect.

Because

1. There is nothing disrespectful about calling a man a man
2. Saying a man is a woman is a lie

Even if you believe that it’s disrespectful to say anything to anyone that is deeply hurtful for no reason. I bet you’re fat (bc maga) but I wouldn’t say it to your face. Even though it’s true. Bc it would hurt you. Not saying you’re fat is a lie. But it’s still ok not to say it.

Secondly, gender is a social construct plain and simple. So there’s no lie.

NP. And I'm 5'7" 127 pounds, just for the record.

If I'm fat, I know I'm fat. I'm not trying to get you to pretend that I'm not.

If I see a man who is pretending that he is a woman, I'm not going along with his delusion, just to be "respectful."

Sure. That’s what’s great about an anonymous forum is you can pretend to be any weight.
Again - gender is not for you to determine. And even if it were a ‘fact’; I bet you’re a Christian. To me it’s clearly factual there is no God determining everything. And it’s been settled scientific fact for a long time that the world was created by the Big Bang theory. I could go on. Should I come burn your bible and raise your church and say - listen lady - we’re done pretending here?

PP. I'm stepping back slowly and will not be posting here again. You are truly coming unglued.

You’re stepping back bc I hit a nerve. Good! We’re going to keep hitting every single nerve every day in defense of our country and the people in it from those with ill intent devoid of factual basis but empowered by an incorrect and bigoted interpretation of the Bible.
Hope you enjoy it bc it’s not going anywhere and there are a lot of us

It's been said but this is truly what MAGA stands for. They really have no regard or care for other humans. I've said this since 2016....Trump being elected allowed all those with evil hearts to climb out from the shadows or from under their rocks and be openly ugly to other humans. They have no issue mocking others, they can not discuss things with others without vulgar language and put downs. They now feel validated in their hate, misogyny, racism, and homophobia. The best part is MAGA always wants to tell everyone how they are "christian" Umm no you all are not. As for Nancy Mace-she is an absolute disgrace to our country and the hatefulness and lack of regard for others and their feelings is abhorrent.

You are so far removed from reality, it's beyond comical. Your hypocrisy via your assessment of MAGA, although fully expected, is as glaring as it could possibly be. Please explore some sincere introspection.

LOL really which part of the post did you not agree with....or did it just hit too close to home MAGA poster?

What’s amazing about this thread is how many trans rights supporters in this thread have unconsciously revealed their deep misogyny and for the women, their profound self-loathing.

It is such an incredibly misogynist movement.

Seriously that was some weird mental gymnastics
what a weird takeaway.

I’m someone you’d probably consider on the opposite side of you. I believe in sex-based rights. I’m also someone with data training who dug into the studies cited by WPATH to support child transition years ago, and realized just how flimsy they were. And I see and despise the deep misogyny of a lot of trans rights activists. So, I’m positive you’d consider me on the opposite side of you.

I wanted to tell you this: I know you won’t believe this, but I want your child to thrive. I want evidence-based care for kids like your child. I want rigorous studies that chart out lifetime care paths, not the ideologically-driven and extraordinarily weak studies that exist now. I do not support the inflammatory language of Trump’s EOs or most aspects of them. I think Nancy Mace’s behavior is unacceptable. I think people like Matt Walsh are vile, morally bankrupt grifters. I never use the t-slur. I think there has to be a way to balance sex-based rights and trans rights, we just haven’t figured it out yet as a society.

I’m sorry for what you and your child are going through right now. It’s not right, and if Democrats and Republicans both hadn’t been cynically fundraising for years on the backs of kids like yours, if hospitals and medical systems hadn’t seen your kid as endless money printing machines, if liberals hadn’t inexplicably decided that for this one issue, even the slightest questioning of the orthodoxy was impermissible and an offense worthy of excommunication, you and your child would not be in this awful situation. And it is awful: we shouldn’t be here. This has been a systemic failure. And I am sorry for the heartbreak you are feeling. You and your kid deserve better.

There will be no studies. Good studies, bad studies, mediocre studies. None. Trump banned transgender and a slew of other words from federal grants had them scrubbed from federal databases.

Oh come on. Do you think the world only exists in the US? There are multiple studies literally going on right now worldwide. Educate yourself.

This is one serious problem that the trans activists have: the absolute, over-the-top dramatics that are both ridiculous and flatly untrue. For the love of God, stop the ludicrous dramatics.

You mean like when the vast majority of women hate being called “cis” and the trans community insist on doing it?

Respect is a two way street.

I’m not the PP. I am also an atheist. It is clearly factual that to me that there is no God determining everything. It is also clearly factual to me that humans do not have a gender soul that exists apart from the physical body. I don’t believe in the existence of any metaphysical soul of any kind, gender-based or not.

I’ll respect your religion just like I respect Christianity. You are free to believe what you like. You should not be discriminated against for it. But I don’t want fundamentalists of any kind proselytizing to children in public schools. That includes your gender religion, that includes Christianity, that includes Judaism. I don’t want any religious belief system proselytized in the schools, yours included.

Funny that. We the taxpayers funded such a study and because the outcome didn’t match the pro-trans hypothesis, she didn’t publish it.

What are your thoughts on the animal testing and mutilation being done at NIH in the name of trans people? I find that highly disturbing. Which is why this should not be done on minor children either.

History will not look kindly on how we unscientifically did unnecessary medical procedures on minor children.

Transgender person here! (Probably the only one on this thread) You all are straying too far from the original topic, Mace being unprofessional and rude, to needlessly bash on trans people. Just to clear things up: cis is not a slur, it's a Latin prefix meaning "on this side," opposite of trans, meaning "on the other side." Comparing Mace's childish use of an offensive slur to a Latin prefix is one of the most privileged opinions I have seen today. You are not oppressed for being cis.
