St John’s and Bullis also looked strong too.

Bears, Bulldogs and the Cadets will likely be the top 3 in the DMV next spring at the start of the season.

Agree re where those three are - they did look good this week. That said, any inferences you can draw from NHSLS results on the upcoming season are compromised by the different approaches schools take. It’s a showcase, so some schools don’t play to win, they test drive a few players, and they give field time to some to play in front of college coaches, so more kids see the field than they might during spring season, which makes a lot of sense and is actually a pretty decent thing to do for your players. Malvern went 1-2 in pool play, and a good number of strong programs had equally spotty W/L records. It’s just an assumption of course but I’d wager confidently that those games would have ended differently if they played to win instead of ensuring more players saw the field.

Everyone plays these scrimmages different. The Cadets play a very deep bench.

I predict another several year run for the Cadets. A revamped coaching staff will make a BIG difference.

The cadets are destined to have another run like they did in 2022.

Cadets we’re good 2023, slightly above average in 24, maybe 25 and 26 will be their years of dominance

Not sure what gsme you were watching the past 24 months.

SJC was dominant in 2023, likely the best team in the area. Cruised through the WCAC.

2024 was a bit of a slow start to the season given the gauntlet of the schedule and Dunkel being out for the year. The Cadets proved yet again they were one of the best teams in the area this Spring.

And you can count on the Cadets being the top team in 2025 again.

Considering there are only 5 teams in any one season with a competitive roster in the dmv, this isn't too hard: Landon, SJC, Bullis, Gonzaga, Georgetown Prep. Next year, PVI might slip in and GZ slip out. The year after that, Good Counsel might get in and PVI and Bullis will slip out.

Prep drops big time next spring, major graduation holes to fill too.

PVI could easily sneak into the top 5 next spring.

Gonzaga will be talented but will be rather young.

My gut tells me Landon and SJC will be the top 2 teams next March. While Bullis has the best player in the area with Jackson Mahar, the Bulldogs lack depth and will have even less depth than they did this past Spring.

1. Cadets
2. Bears
3. Bullis Bulldogs
4. Purple Eagles
5. PVI Panthers

Next year might be the year Good Counsel cements itself as a top 5 team in the area.

Dane is building something in Olney.

What was Georgetown's Prep's rationale for not playing in either session at NHSLS this summer?

Every marquee HS program played in either session, and some programs competed in both tournaments.

Does the coaching staff not care enough about exposing their kids to college coaches or preparing for the upcoming spring season.

Once again, another bone-head decision by the GP coaching staff.

GP played in The Atlantic coast showcase, which was put on by Georgetown prep and St. John’s. I believe they skipped an nHSLS because a number of their players chose to play in showcases rather than for the school.

So the Prep coaching staff decides to play in a showcase hosted by one of their bigger DMV rivals, St Johns. A SJC program that now has a few GP alums on its roster.

Prep is playing some type of fee to play in the Atlantic Showcase which likely goes into Speeks back pocket and to help fund the Cadets program.

Again... it makes you question how smart the GP coaching staff really is.

NHSLS attracts more collegiate coaches than whatever this showcase Military road is putting on.

Prep will struggle next Spring.

No fee. It was held at GP. But nhsls isn’t too thrilled.
