Back in 2004 there was more transparency and officials were blunt to put it mildly. It was a different era in public education, and society in general. I don’t think parents will get the straight talk in this day and age.

Agreed. At best you’ll hear there is a fentyl problem in FCPS schools be they won’t give you an estimate of how rampant the problem is at schools. But we know it is a problem at every school from the high FARMS schools to the ones with the fast BMW driving students.

It’s crazy to post a quote from 20 years ago! Fairfax County did a lot of work to address gang problems back then. I am sure it’s better now than it was then.

OK. Proof that it went down? Or is that just a feeling too? Do you think there are more or less gang issues in the county than in 2004? That number will be commiserate with what we see in schools.
