Even if true that he had a consensual sexting relationship with one of the (multiple) accusers, its still grossly inappropriate for a supervisor to do that with an employee.
And thats not even talking about the many accusations of grossly inappropriate sexual comments to other employees. The guy is a monster. |
So far I've only seen a lot of gossip and innuendo unless you are referring to some anonymous reports that nobody owned up to. |
Troll better. You got to keep up with the facts for people to take you seriously. The Office of Inspector General interviewed 31 people, 15 of whom claimed to be victims of his bullying and/or harassment, when it determined that he “made repeated comments about the appearance of female subordinates, directed offensive comments, and jokes of a sexual nature at subordinates, bullied subordinates, and had a sexual relationship with a subordinate over which he had supervisory responsibility… his behavior created an environment where some staff members reported being afraid to disagree with him on professional matters, worried about their job security, and felt intimidated and disrespected. His conduct violated MCPS’s sexual harassment and workplace bullying policies, and MCPS’s employee code of conduct.” https://montgomerycountymd.gov/OIG/Resources/Files/PDF/IGActivity/FY2024/MCPS_Beidleman.pdf |
It isn't especially clear since even the investigations are in disagreement as to whether anything went on. |
Seriously. If you look at the doctored results of the MCPS internal investigation, you can see that MCPS had no basis to hold up his promotion this summer. He was totally clean according to the report, as it was revised after the fact once MCPS caught wind that it promoted him amidst all of the complaints. On the other hand, if you look at the 2 investigations by Jackson-Lewis and the Office of Inspector General, they both found dozens of instances of harassment, bullying, sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior that violated MCPS codes of conduct. The mismatch between the two camps is troubling and shows how messy this is. |
I thought the other one was doctored. Are you sure? |
Yes. There have been 4 investigations so far. One by MCPS that originally found troubling behavior but was later revised to say that, no, actually there was no basis to hold up his promotion when all of the MCPS leadership approved his promotion. The other 2 investigations that have been completed found dozens of instances of troubling conduct. Those results were made public so doctoring there. The 4th investigation by the OIG is still underway. It focuses on the failure by MCPS to act on the claims made against him and how he ended up being promoted. But I agree with the pp who noted that we ought to credit the doctored results of the MCPS internal investigation as much as the 2 investigations completed by the OIG and outside counsel. Since MCPS’s official report now says that he was clean, and the 2 independent investigations says he wasn’t, we can’t be sure of anything at all |
I trust the Washington Post reporting, which detailed the allegations and the cover-up, much more than I trust the folks who got caught doing a cover-up. I mean, personally. |
me too but the article only said there could be a potential coverup and lacked any evidence |
Here is what the article said (emphasis mine): "The complaint, obtained by The Washington Post, alleges nearly four years of sexual harassment beginning with a 2019 text asking the teacher to meet him at the Gaithersburg Hilton at 11:30 p.m. It is among at least 18 verbal or written reports submitted to the school district about Beidleman by staff members, parents and union stewards since 2016. These and other accounts detail a pattern of harassment, threats, retaliations, workplace bullying and other inappropriate conduct spanning at least 12 years across three campuses, according to documents obtained by The Post and interviews with more than 45 current and former Farquhar staff members and administrators — as well as several teachers who worked for Beidleman when he was an assistant principal at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown and at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg. In all, 39 current and former staffers said in interviews that he directly bullied or harassed them. " Sure, this could be a vast conspiracy across more than 45 people to impugn one innocent man. Or it could be that this guy was a sex pest and bully, which seems MUCH more likely based on the evidence. |
Was this the same teacher who was texting him nude pics? |
Joel, thanks for reminding everyone that you are still a bully and still on the MCPS payroll. Did you see the letter in the Post? National coverage of your disgraceful conduct. |
It goes to show that some people see what they want. |
If they put this jerknin the rubber room or give him another vacation with lifetime pay as a reward for incompetence I hope there is public outrage instead of complacency. |
39 separate people went on record as saying he either sexually harassed or bulled them. Are you going to slut shame all of them? This man is a clear predator. He left a path of destruction in his wake. There is absolutely no reason to defend him. Even if we accept that ONE of his inappropriate workplace relationships was consensual, at least at one point in the relationship, we are still left with dozens of other people saying he harassed and abused them. |
