The OIG finds that Biedleman violated MCPS policies and code of conduct

What's depressing to me about this is that county taxpayers are paying for this additional investigation, when it was so obvious that he shouldn't have been allowed to stay in any position as principal, much less be promoted. Also, it is telling that Biedleman is described in the report as "MCPS employee Dr. Joel Biedleman" which suggests he may still be employed by the school system.

Wait, so the OIG finds that MCPS violated its own policies on numerous occasions but then turns it right back over to…..MCPS? They are the ones who tried to sweep it under the rug!

The OIG doesn't have authority to do more.

Hearts go out to all the teachers and staff who had to endure this (and may currently be enduring it elsewhere because let’s face it- this is probably not an isolated individual)

Wait. Where's the investigation into the coverup and the failures in leadership who put Beidleman forward despite his known track record? That's what I'm interested in hearing about from the OIG.

Is this the guy that Dr. McKnight recommended for a promotion to principal just this past summer?

The BOE does... but based on past experience, they will do little.

That one is still not finished.

It’s only in the first stages and hasn’t been finished or written yet.

All the BOE can do is fire Monifa. Monifa is the one who has to fire Beidleman.

Got it. Thanks! That one's gonna be a real nail biter.

This report, which was thorough, offered few surprises since it basically confirmed much of what had already been reported by the Washington Post.

Seems like the allegations have been substantiated by the Washington post, the Jackson Lewis report and now the OIG. But yet he’s still an employee? What threshold does MCPS use to terminate employment?

I think many people have to be fired. Not just Bidelman or Dr. McKnight. There are other people in that chain that failed.

Considering that MCPS gave a promotion (to assistant general counsel!) and a pay raise to the person who previously investigated and cleared Biedelman, I’d expect Biedelman to actually find himself in a new position making more money shortly.
