Once the admissions process was corrupted by all the prep centers making average kids appear gifted it was just a matter of time.

Not just prep centers, middle school teachers and parents were corrupting students by enabling them learn advanced math, science, and English. With merit criteria replaced by a farcical essay, a tacit insertion of ethnicity is the ticket to get in.

Agreed. The prep is shifting to creative writing classes and TJ farcical essay prep, aka the art of sounding good.

essay prep for art of sounding victim

To the "useful fool" on this site forums who makes no effort to hide asian american hate, keeps yapping prepp, testing buying, replying to own posts, etc., you are still welcome here, but don't turn into a slacker. Maintain your active participation, even if you have to reiterate the same limited arguments given to you, as it contributes to the ongoing community debate.

To others with differing viewpoints: Thanks for your understanding, empathy, and respectful communication while engaging with others. Open dialogue and the exchange of ideas while respecting contrasting opinions contributes to a civil discussion.

Sorry to bust your bubble but TJ was/is ranked in the top 1-3 for the most of the past 20 years. First time TJ went down so significantly in the past 20 years.

Wrong. TJ was ranked many times outside the top 3 in the last 20 years, in fact TJ has ranked in the top 1-3 only 7 times in the lat 20 years.

This is one of the most interesting posts I've ever read on this site. Am I to gather that you're somehow disappointed that the caliber of the dissenting arguments has improved?

Sure, let's just ignore the fact that Asian American students with stronger merit credentials were denied admission. No racial manipulation of outcomes going on here.

I guess the school board members are not Asians. No equality there.

Rachna Sizemore Heiser (South Asian American) and Abrar Omeish (West Asian American) would disagree. And they represent the entire county as At-Large members.

I have never heard of West Asian American being used to describe Arabs. Did you make that up? Genuinely curious.

That shows how good our school education is.

I'm also pretty certain I am not the one with the weak education. First, the Middle East is, very generally speaking, a region in Southwest Asia *and* part of North Africa - so it's not clearly only in Asia.
Second, I am virtually certain Omeish does not consider herself to be Asian considering she found some humor with the whole TJ admissions changes feeling racist against asians. Remember, the whole reason the whole TJ litigation got so far was because of bad docs - including her written comment: “I mean there has been an anti asian feel underlying some of this, hate to say it lol.” She absolutely would not have LOLed about anti muslim feelings.

Thanks for posting the link.
More people should know how badly the school board is treating Asian students.
If this happened to black students, it would be all over national TV networks.
I think Asians in general are too quiet to speak out and tolerate unjust BS like these.
We should be more vocal about all the discrimination against Asians.

You are lucky that FCPS has a very small Black population, somewhere around 10%. The fact the Black population is so small is what allows the racism towards African-Africans to survive and hide in the shadows in FCPS. If instead the African-American population was roughly 25%, FCPS would not be able to get away with such blatant segregation and injustice in the FCPS system towards Black people. Imagine TJ with <2% Black kids if the actual population was 25% Black. That would be an obvious, undeniable injustice.

Yup, that's how the San Francisco school district is being destroyed.

Why would it be injustice??? Black kids are not owed anything, they can compete like rest of the world and not yell racism for lack of prep.

It's "useful Idiot", not "Fool". Sometimes the phrase is incorrectly attributed to Lenin but dates back to British use as early as 1864.

Ain't that the truth.

No clue but agree the test buying was a real problem.

Interesting that you interpret pushback to entitlement as “hate”.

It has miles and miles and miles to go to catch up to the amount of hate against Black people that comes from Asians, to say nothing of the rest of the country. But you think you're justified, so you don't see it as a problem.
