The man is just a straight up force!

This is what happens when you get into h and yls even when admissions doesn’t want you there but grudgingly let’s you in

Btw, r’s say Obama was an affirmative action admit but he wasn’t — someone found out he was one of the highest black lsat scorers when he took it. Michelle otoh, 😂. Barack tho is hyper intelligent and it showed.

There is a difference between Pete, Yang, Obama and Vivek ….

And the older guard who got in thru hooks and/or when 40% people got in

Where did you see o’s lsat scores? never caught that, thx

There are guestimates out there based on LSAC data. A decent score, but nothing outstanding for Harvard. Obama likely still got an AA boost.

?

Because he’s a Republican with conservative social values from a culture that isn’t known for equality.

He has the advantage of not having a clue how any part of the government or politics works so he can say ridiculously simple-minded shit with a straight face. When the candidates with government experience say similarly stupid things you can tell they don’t really believe their own bullshit.

Why are you running against Trump? You say that Trump is so great, and Trump is running for the Republican nomination. So why are you running against him?

Vivek is angling for a position in a Trump administration.

There really isn’t a good fit for him in a trump cabinet to be honest

He’s really in that neera tanden/Susan rice/jake Sullivan type archetype

And trump doesn’t really use that nor is that a good fit for people who want to run for office in the future

Because he supports freedom and protection only for his clan/sect/caste/cronies just like the rest of the Republicans.

This is true. But the cynic is me thinks that he knows things will not be that simple and he's saying them anyway.

Vivek has plenty of friends in and around government.

A freedom-loving, free market-loving, capitalism-loving guy is okay with government telling girls/women what they can and can’t do with their bodies?? Okay….

He is not like them. All three of them were political animals from the professional womb and enjoy these kinds of DC games.

Did Obama really believe he would close Guantanamo Bay? Or was he still too fresh a Senator?

Democrats are collectively Sh_tting their pants at the thought of a young hungry Vivek absolutely eviscerating Biden.

I mean, it would be so bad for the Dems if Biden had to debate an opponent over 40 years younger than him who is a way wayyyyyyy better public speaker with more intelligence. The dems would have to call in the police for elderly abuse. Vivek would absolutely obliterate Biden on stage.

I don’t agree with much of what Vivek says but he would certainly make Biden look like a fool. And I’d vote for him 100% of the time over Biden.

I support abortion rights but at the same time I'm very cognizant that we're also talking about future human lives too. Each embryo represents a potential human. So even I see why it's such a moral dilemma for many people. You deliberately ignore this by making the argument about women's rights. And then there's also the whole moral dilemma around timing of abortion from the earliest embryos to more developed fetuses. That's why many countries have non-controversial bans on later term abortions, including most of Europe, yet the abortion rights activists in the US utterly refuse any national compromise that would be the closest to a consensus.

Back to the thread, I do like Vivek. There's something inspiring and positive about him, of all the R candidates. He's definitely the one to watch carefully. He will get votes Turnip won't and I can see him playing strong, or stronger than Turnip, in the swing states and suburbia, which can offset the wacko right who won't vote for anyone but Turnip.

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs regarding abortion but only the pro choice democrats respect a variety of beliefs. Roe was a compromise position for 50 years. The right destroyed that and the voters are not having it.

Do you think that’s a gotcha question? I didn’t vote for Obama in the 2008 primary because I thought he was too inexperienced. The biggest part of the job is dealing with Congress and all the different political factions. A tiny part of the job is giving good speeches.
