The unrepentant DC Council incompetents and ideologues have pulled the rug under the entire city/statehood.

I hope the no chase and noise nuisance policies are next. Whoever gets rid of ATVs and noise makers have my vote

I’m not sure about no chase. I don’t really want high speed chases in my neighborhood.

I'd take high speed chases in my neighborhood if it means finally arresting criminals. Right now they know they can steal a car in Silver Spring and drive straight into DC with no consequences.

Oh right, because D.C. was very close to getting statehood before the current D.C. Council was sworn in/before crime started rising, and now the only thing stopping it is who's on the Council, as opposed to, say, the fact that the House is under Republican control and won't vote for D.C. statehood no matter what?

What’s stopping it is that everyone knows what a sh*tshiw of government we have now. Also DC can’t fund the schools or a free bus, but claims it can pay the $2 billion per year to be a state?

Just do away with the taxation already, you bloody idiots

It's not like getting rid of federal taxes in D.C. is actually a choice anyone is presenting as a real option, though.

I’ll vote for anyone who did

If you live in D.C., you can't — it'd take an act of Congress.

That’s not true. I voted for your idiots and never will again.
I get plenty of voting I’d now like clean safe streets good school housings healthcare
Less taxation
And the next vote to get you spineless slugs out of the office (and no I don’t care who the alternative is)

Easy to say but there must BE an alternative, preferably a viable one. Charles Allen ran unopposed last cycle.

Charles Allen running unopposed is amazing. There’s a Hill omerta that is really strong, and must have dictated that no local activists run against him. I really want to see someone move to W6 specifically to run against him.

Wasn't this exactly what happened re: Denise Krebbs?

you mean how she got redistricted out of W6?

This is quite on the nose. What makes this city council, one of so very many, feel untouchable and that they need not concern themselves with the impact of their actions on those higher up the ticket?

Why no need to read the room? After the resolution banning Bowser from the House floor early on, why send this bill, then top it with the cherry of the Cuba resolution after the Congresswoman was mugged? Having not sent the bill prior to the election, adjustments were needed in light of the reality of the election.

I don’t know a single person who likes him. His team is terrible as well.

Many of the alternatives who have run are even softer on crime, so saying "I don't care who the alternative is" is at best, meaningless hyperbole.

More moderate and electable candidates need to run. There are genuine mechanisms in place to protect the status quo. Grandiose words are of no genuine use. Being strategic is. That takes a bit more time and effort.
