I'd take high speed chases in my neighborhood if it means finally arresting criminals. Right now they know they can steal a car in Silver Spring and drive straight into DC with no consequences.

Same here. The idiots are speeding and constantly wrecking cars even when they aren't being pursued, so what's the difference?
At least with a chase they might get caught.
