Many of the alternatives who have run are even softer on crime, so saying "I don't care who the alternative is" is at best, meaningless hyperbole.

More moderate and electable candidates need to run. There are genuine mechanisms in place to protect the status quo. Grandiose words are of no genuine use. Being strategic is. That takes a bit more time and effort. [/quote]
