My favorite was the poster that said poor people shouldn't travel. I think DC moms are winning the title for sh!ttiest people. |
Fingers crossed that they have a crew for you. Is the flight returning to the previous destination? Might even be the same crew if it’s not a long haul. Good luck! May the odds be ever in your favor. |
Must be a bored troll. |
Even poor people want to travel to see loved ones once in a while. You don't know if someone is traveling to see their terminally ill relative. Have some humanity and just shut up already. |
It’s also why nothing ever changes in America. Why blame a sh*tty corporation when you can blame the consumers? |
You could make a game time decision on Thursday if it’s not too stressful with a toddler. |
But thats acting like the only trips are cross country. Rail would open up travel options and competition. Not everyone is taking DC to LA trips, many people are only taking 4-8 hour drives and flying. If I could take a rail, I would. DC to LA would still 99% be a flight for most people, but removing staffing and equipment pressure on other routes can alleviate the pressure placed on airlines to facilitate so much of the travel Americans indulge in. And it is indulgent. |
I don't know if you were referring to my post, but I said that when making a travel budget people should account for things not going perfectly and at least have some sort of contingency budget for a couple of day or to allow flexibility. I am not going to dictate what someone does with their money, or say that poor people shouldn't travel. Delays, hiccups, broken reservations are all thing that happen when people are traveling, and aren't typically remedied immediately. |
What makes me so sad is hearing the stories of people traveling to see family members for the first time in years. Don't forget that many people put off traveling the last two holiday seasons, making it less likely that they would cancel or postpone traveling this year. Life is short and time with loved ones is something people at all income levels need and deserve. |
We want lots of things we can't afford. That's just life. People who spend money they don't have is a big part of the problem in this country. |
Air travel is not an entitlement, no matter how many different ways you try to say it is. |
Yeah, those people tend to choose Southwest for low fares and fee-free changes to itineraries. People don't seem to grasp the extent of the breakdown on Southwest's end. We aren't talking about a day or two's delay. Their entire schedule has been severely curtailed. If Southwest isn't directly booking hotels, flights on other airlines, rental cars, or shuttle vans, people have to use credit cards for these alternative means of getting home taking a leap of faith that they will get reimbursed in a timely manner at a time when the airline is undeserving of that trust. |
I leave tomorrow as well. If it hasn’t been canceled , it probably will be fine. But perhaps delayed. |
