The 2029 and 2020 capital orange team had 1 each recruited to play at Harvard. There are more examples it’s not super common but it happens.

2019 and 2020 Cap Orange each had 1 to Harvard (corrected).

Yes. Especially on orange. Expect some slight shifting between the top half of orange/bottom of blue and then the bottom of orange and other clubs.

Any idea if there will be many (or any) openings on blue?

There are 3-5 that are behind the curve on blue, but not sure if there are any on orange that can take advantage???

Capital Parents - after reading 19 pages of this lacrosse thread on an anonymous board I've come to a recommendation. If you could do it all over again choose Blue. They seem better.

2nd coach who did subbing moved away mid winter and she was acutely aware of team dynamics and put certain best matches in together. Took awhile for that to sort itself out. Existing coach is awesome and just needs to re-tool a bit. Girls LOVE her.
Team hadn’t played together since fall. It showed.
They are a great time and will rise again. Girls are doing the work. They will come together.

Capital Orange 2027 has continued to perform poorly after showing so much promise in the fall. What is the issue? Is it poor coaching, are there injuries, or is it something else?

Now that 2028 offers are coming out, is Orange still the best option than other A teams in NoVa? Going to HoCo or Baltimore is not an option for us. If any 2025 or 2026 parents are out there, what has been your experience with respect to recruiting support? I know a lot of recruiting is self-marketing and playing in good tournaments/brackets and getting film.

Yes, absolutely. 2026 Orange sidelines full of great coaches. Either your kid is going to do the work and continue to do the work or they aren’t. We are at the age where you should move away from doing things from your children. Their habits will tell you everything you need to know about how successful they will be. Driving to a further away team won’t magically make them a better player.

I agree. lots of coaches on the sidelines for 2026 orange but your daughter has to put in the work emailing coaches etc

Some college coaches will not consider any B team player. They will take a player that is on a lesser A team or only a single-year team over a B team player. They may not have been there for the Orange team. Not fair, but it is how it is.

Also, Capital will absolutely try to push Blue players over Orange players when they call and ask about an Orange player if Blue still needs a school.

Sure, 2nd best is always a good option. Great sales team at Capital.

There’s no easy answer because there are too many variables in play. Each situation is unique. Don’t listen to these posts as most are hopelessly biased. You need someone who can honestly asses your kids current level as well as potential and then map that against their commitment and ultimate goals. Each team/club can be a great option and none of them guarantee success or failure.

2026 orange here and echo points above… lots of coaches watching and recruiting director is very helpful and responsive. Can’t speak to the pushing blue girls over orange because we have not yet reached that point. I do feel that the recruiting director is a good advocate for both blue and orange.

So far, I’m hearing 8-9 pride kids on blue.
