Good news! You can wear a mask for as long as you want. MCPS will not stop you. Your kid can double up with two KN95 masks if you so choose!

But there is no good reason to make masks mandatory again in public schools.

This...... please. We need to be able to easily identify the brainwashed drones in our society. I especially get a kick out of seeing someone wearing a mask driving alone in their car.

When you see me wearing a mask in my car it's because I'm driving someone with a vulnerable immune system to a doctor appointment, which is something I do regularly now, because people like you are inconsiderate disease vectors.

You drive people to the doctor while driving alone in a mask?

Omg I’m dying. Thank you.

Of course there is. My kid shouldn't have to get COVID from your kid in order to go to school. One-way masking is better than nothing, but better than that is universal masking.

You will have to convince people that covid is a horrible illness for children.

Good luck.

A year ago this thread would have raised my blood pressure now I just listen and laugh. Most people on the metro are unmasked now. I feel like I’ve woken from a fever dream and almost everyone in real like is acting like a normal human being again.

(Never had Covid. Boosted once)

So sorry to hear that you are dying from COVID. COVID is airborne and so when someone is getting into a car the air inside the car can be infected with COVID. That's how COVID
spreads, in the air. Once someone gets COVID multiple times there are many long term symptoms that can appear. One is brain damage. Part of that brain damage is that
the person can lose the ability to understand consequences. So sorry that you are experiencing that long term effect. There is no cure.

Except the 687 people that died of COVID today. They aren't acting normal and they haven't woken up. More people die in one day from COVID than died in Hurricane Ian.
But you forget about them. They didn't matter to anyone and are not missed.

They did not die from Covid alone as most were 1/2 dead anyhow

Today the sun is out, it's been a beautiful week. Enjoy the time before winter hits.

As far as the anti-maskers go, if you notice, they must -no, are compelled to comment. They have to be right. They have to know that they didn't make a mistake by telling their child to unmask. That is why they don't leave this thread alone. They don't want to be found wrong and be held responsible for the long-term issues of their children down the road.

Leave them be. There is no hope for them. They must find wisdom in their own way and nothing we say or do will change their minds.

At this time, for now, the new variants have not begun to take hold in the U.S. All we can do for now is monitor. When the unmasked children become the first to be ill, then make the appropriate decisions for your own child based upon the number of infections in your child's classrooms.

Remember that unmasking in lunchrooms will be the primary spreader in mid-winter, not so much now when kids can eat outside. Reduction of viral load is the key to success.

Stay safe - and take heart - you're doing the right thing.

Make your own decisions. You got that part right at least. Thankfully, that’s national/state/local policy now.

Who said anything about dying from Covid? You are delusional. Especially with the “not understanding consequences” part. That was a nice touch.

Step away from the keyboard. You clearly have lost all sense of reality.

Probably sooner than you would before your five cases of COVID, yes.

I wear a mask in the car when I'm about to drive someone else, yes. Because I do not want to contaminate the air they'll be breathing when they get back in the car. Most people would understand this, but you've got all that brain damage. I'm so sorry for your family.

Oh that is reality. Permanent brain damage is one of the many consequences of covid infections. COVID is so much worse than a “cold”.

I have it right now and it is awful. Wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Got it from my kid who got it at school. Masking, ventilation, and distance does help.

If it helps, why do you have covid?!
