Why can't they just do an "emergency order" to temporarily decrease or eliminate the tariff. We've had tons of "emergency orders" for everything else under the sun lately.

I thought Republicans didn’t like governing by Executive Order? Anyway it was announced Friday that the government is buying a bunch of formula from Ireland. They are relaxing some regulations.

oh come on. there were obviously serious concerns - abbot is shamefully trying to claim “we may have had contaminated formula but it wasn’t out fault!”. which is it - the FDA wad neglectful and should have inspected earlier; or Abbot is being unfairly blamed?

A company like Abbott should be doing their own quality and safety checks. But they don't do nearly enough which is why we need regulations, FDA, etc.

The plant was shut down in February yet Abbott still doesn't have its sh!t together enough to clean up and fix the source of contamination in the months since?

I had a medication that I took for years from the same manufacturer. It was recalled because glass was found in the medication and they shut down the plant that made it to clean all of the assembly line. It took them 2 years to just clean up glass and get back up and running. I don’t know why it takes so long for these things when it seems like it could be done in a few weeks but it does.

A d the lab work and investigation found the bacteria in the infants did not match those in the formula, plant or facility. One matched the water a family used to mix in the formula. So no reason to delay the opening for 2-3 mos.
