I never used to be a single issue voter but I most certainly am now. This is just disgraceful. If we have some kind of national security crisis due to terrorists slipping into the country over the border, it will be ENTIRELY on Biden and Democrats.

Exactly this. I sincerely hope no one forgets who is responsible for this massive influx of illegal immigrants. As you say, in 15 years (if not sooner), Democrats will be twisting the facts to blame this on Republicans. Some have the gall to do that right now, even while Republicans are holding out for a complete overhaul of immigration legislation - while "progressives" are outraged about it being "cruel". These people (Democrats) are ruining our country.

And it's not like Latin Americans, Africans, Chinese, Russians, and Indians are natural progressives. Ask them their thoughts about the trans movement. Or restorative justice. Or legal fentanyl. Or the role of women in society. Or abortion. Most will have very traditional beliefs that are at odds with the progressive agenda.

There's no upside for democrats.

Unless you're a diabolical capitalist who just wants to exploit cheap labor. Methinks that's where it's at. Wall Street skews very blue these days. I think democrats just want cheap labor. They lost the blue collar vote a long time ago. And this is their FU to Americans that work for a wage and want safe communities and decent schools and affordable homes.

You know what I've noticed about people who are against illegal immigrants? They're inevitably one or two generations from being foreign themselves, usually came here with hoarded wealth from their dysfunctional native countries, and full of the same dysfunctional ideas about class and caste their parents or grandparents brought from those countries. Because their own feudal culture worked so well for their family, they expect the same in America.

Nearly all were vetted. Fail a medical check, you’re sent home. Come in the wrong way, you’ee sent back home. Don’t have enough money to support your family without government assistance? You go back home. And usually you were sent back home by the travel company who would have to pay for your passage back home. And this applied to people who had US born children. Ask me how I know.

Many are fleeing for better economic opportunities. Everyone knows it. It is also why the vast majority get sent home who actually shows up for their court cases.

No country in the world is required to take in millions of illegal immigrants simply because they want better economic opportunities. Newsflash: there are many people waiting in line legally with the UCIS because they want better economic opportunities too.

We are allowed to control immigration just like every other country has the right to do. We are allowed to be an autonomous nation with well defined borders whether Democrats like you like it or not. We are not required to take in people either simply because their countries have a lot of crime. That is a local issue they should be dealing with.

All of these soapbox speeches about asylum and refugees have worn thin and no longer work. Everyone with a shred of common sense can see the rampant abuse of our charity and the fact that millions of people here walk through our porous open borders who dont even qualify as refugees or asylum seekers. If millions were asylum seekers or refugees then they'd automatically stay in the first country they'd flee too outside of their own. For many that's Mexico. The fact that they keep going past Mexico is incontrovertible proof that they aren't refugees or asylum seekers, because they keep heading North for more ..i.e..econmic opportunity. They can stay in Mexico if all they cared about was asylum or escaping a war torn country.

You know what I notice about people are pro open borders and mass illegal immigration? They live in their stupid white wealthy liberal enclaves and never have to be the ones who deal with the fall out. They hire illegal immigrants to do their yard work and clean their homes for $12/h. Their schools are never overrun with tons of children who immigrated here illegally , can't speak a lick of English, and are years behind in schooling that require billions of tax dollars to be diverted to their remedial education rather than for our own citizen children. Pro illegal immigration nimrods probably don't live in areas where people suffer due to extreme lack of affordable housing, with much of it being taken up and consumed by illegal immigrants rather than housing our own citizens who are homeless in the streets.

Many of the South Americans I’ve known over the past 2 decades are very resentful of people who crossed illegally for multiple reasons.

But did they came legally? That is the only thing that matter. I don't care if immigrants come to US with $100 in their pocket or $1 billion in their bank account, we welcome them all as long as they follow our laws. Yes, they all bring in their culture and traditions, you sound like a bigot who would discriminate against Indians celebrating Divali. And that is what makes America a melting pot - a mixture of other cultures.

And how do you know that if we don't check their identities at the crossing? You have no idea if the young kid from Algeria, Somali, China is a refugee. To call person a refugee, they have to meet a specific requirement set up in a specific refugee program, like United 4 Ukraine for example. Those people are required to meet specific requirements of where they were on the day the war started, what is their citizenship, etc. Only then, they are given a parol (Travel Authorization) to enter US. Those who are crossing the border illegally are not refugees.
