I could not disagree with you more. There isn't one original sin, but if there were one... let's see: slavery. And then the KKK and how we let them get away with everything. Wait, no: manifest destiny and the erasure of the indigenous people. Hmmm, well there is also Capitalism and the primacy of property over people that has brought us all the affordability issues of today--who could support the billionaires now, I wonder? There are so many to choose from but nowhere in a discussion about the "original sin" of this country, of what brought us the Trump nightmare in 2016 and then 2024, is it appropriate to mention a lifelong public servant who knew how to reach across the aisle, who brought back decency and common sense after our first descent into madness, who built back the US economy after Trump trashed it by doing everything wrong in the pandemic. You are truly full of $hit. |
You can always say “what if”. If we didn’t have to use the ridiculous electoral college, Hillary Clinton could have been president in 2016 and again in 2020. Then Biden and Trump would never have happened. |
Or if HRC had been nominated when she was in her political prime 2008.... Obama availability in 2016 would have prevented the Trump era from happening and Biden presumably wouldn't have been able to ride Obama's coattails to The White House if VP at 80 instead of 70. |

Not sure if you guys can read the title of this thread….
It’s TRUMP’S dementia. Please stay on topic. I’ve actually heard it addressed on several news outlets this week! People talking about it in Europe, Africa, USA- ALL calling for 25th section 4. |
I’m seeing articles about Trump’s dementia in the foreign press I read as well. I don’t think foreigners see him as some eccentric bombastic guy anymore. I think they’re seeing clearly what many Americans can’t see – – that he’s suffering from mental health challenges, including dementia. |
The most powerful country in the world lacking appropriate leadership for almost a decade now is a concerning matter to the rest of the free world. 2029 can't come soon enough for both Americans and most of the world. |
If Republicans had never put Trump on the ballot, Trump would not be in office. It all starts and ends there. |

Former White House physician Dr. Jonathan Reiner is calling for Donald Trump to undergo an immediate medical evaluation after the president’s latest Truth Social post raised fresh concerns about his mental fitness.
Reiner, who served as Vice President Dick Cheney’s cardiologist, reacted strongly on X, writing that Trump’s behavior has become deeply concerning. “Earlier in the week the president threatened to kill an entire civilization. Now he posts a video of a woman being beaten to death,” Reiner stated. “To put it mildly, that’s concerning behavior. If he was a member of your family you would urge him to see a doctor. He should have a medical evaluation.” The post in question shows graphic footage of a woman being brutally beaten to death outside a gas station. Trump used the video to attack “illegal criminal aliens” and blame “Radical Democrats” and “Crooked Joe Biden” for the crime. He added a brief message asking followers to “say a prayer for this innocent woman’s family.” Critics say the clip represents an unprecedented and callous politicization of a real person’s death — something no prior president has done. Medical experts note that a growing lack of impulse control can be a warning sign of cognitive decline. The episode has intensified questions about Trump’s fitness to serve, with many now urging the Republican Party to address the issue directly. |
Well, there's no guarantee Americans won't elect another geriatric. Jim Clyburn is 85 and running for reelection. Chuck Grassley is 92 and running for reelection. Both Democrats and Republicans love their old people. We have been a gerontocracy for many years now. |
Yes. The lack of impulse control is becoming more and more apparent. It’s taken too long for this to be part of the public discourse. |
