Mother Jones magazine got hold of a video of Mitten talking at a private fundraiser. He was much more forthcoming then he usually is. It turns out, he has a very dim view of 47% of Americans:
"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax." Ha ha ha ha!
Yep, right you are. I'm supporting my brother who doesn't like Obama and who will soon be on disability and Medicaid. If he bothers to vote it will probably be for Romney because he's too stupid to figure out what the block grants will mean for Medicaid. Meanwhile we made enough income so that we paid the alternative minimum tax last year and we will never ever vote for Romney. |
Romney is an idiot. |
I believe douchebag is the technical term. |
Another nail in his coffin. Good riddance.

Here is a map showing in which states Romney's "moochers" live. Notice that the top 10 moocher states are Republican while most of the tax-paying states are Democratic:

I sure hope this gets the media coverage it deserves. Agreed: nail in the coffin! |
The truth hurts. |
Ha! I'm doing something wrong. I support Obama, fall into Mitt's definition of middle class, and (unlike Mitt) pay 25% federal taxes. |
|
OMG are you really comparing this woman to Mitt Romney? Hilarious! Or are you comparing her to 47% of the population? Good luck with that! |
The irony of Mittens complaining about people not paying taxes is that he may not have paid income taxes himself for the past 10 years. I wonder if he secretly voted for Obama?
|
Here's some truth for Mitt Romney: He assumes the lowest 47% of earners vote Democrat. Unfortunately for him: *About half of Americans making 75K-100K vote Democrat *About half of Americans making 100K-200K vote Democrat *AAAND about half of Americans making 200K+ vote Democrat Mittens, if your path to victory is to abandon the bottom 47% earners, you are not only guilty of class warfare according to wingnut criteria, you are doomed politically. At worst you have insulted a good portion of your base. Good luck with that. |
The Republican candidate, whose name is Mitt (not Mittens; gotta loved uninformed voters!), is right in his statement.
It's about time someone brought it up. It's only sad that he didn't say it for everyone to hear. The media will hound on him for this instead of correctly taking the current president to task for letting the Libyan situation take a backseat to his shameless Vegas trip, campaign begging, and so on. Calls to mind the reverse of when Obama said something like folks in rural areas cling to their guns and religion in an off hand comment. There is some truth in what each of them said. It's surprising how some high earners and I am not consistently vote Democratic it seems not rational to me but I don't want to start an argument I am just adding another viewpoint. |
