to the people trying to compare obama's guns and religion quote with romney's, you probably should listen to his comments as oppose to putting up the video and taking the word of your favorite conservative on what he is saying.
obama may have slipped up in his characterization of them (and i will concede that if nobody else will) but unlike romney who totally dismisses the 47% he's talking about, obama was talking about trying to find common ground and reassuring that he/dems are viable choices. so again, listen to the piece. dont read what your fan boy conservatives are telling you and realize that this is a straw man argument. |

Yes, I listened to the whole quote today. While I found Obama patronizing in his characterization of these folks, he does it in the context of trying to convince them to change their views as opposed to writing them off like Romney wrote off the 47%. |

no the plan is (and im being serious) that republicans want to tax these 47%'ers. this is what they mean when they talk about "broadening the tax base". they indeed want to cut taxes but the people accustomed to not paying them, will in an ideal world. now grant it, the taxes paid by the lower income/47% wont be high but if a person in that bracket has been use to not paying federal taxes due to deductions and the like, any sort of payment is an increase to them. and all this talk has been around way before this tape came out. |

If by "slipped up" you mean "shouldn't have said it out loud," then yes. But it was entirely accurate. Unlike Romney's quote, in which he claism that the 47% who don't pay taxes are lockstep voting for Obama. Which is demonstrably false. |

With all that's going on with this election, I think it's crazy that those of us who live in DC don't get our vote counted. Anyone want to go in on an $11k condo in Arlington so we have "residence" in Virginia (swing state) and have a vote that counts?
