Polls and Lols: A 2020 Master Thread

I like how Trump supporters are apparently too shy to tell someone, or respond to an automated/online survey that they plan to vote for Trump, but also are all attending massive Trump rallies.

Yes, this makes me nervous, especially PA:

If Biden picks up GA and NC won't matter but Trump definitely has a path.

51-44 in PA doesn’t make me nervous. Democrats ran the table in PA in 2018 and things have only gotten worse since then. I’m no longer caring about Florida. Biden doesn’t need it and it’s not worth worrying about a total shitshow.

I care about Florida. It will be called earlier than PA.

An early, clear call will be good for the country.

You are not basing your statement on data.

This thread is about data.

Even though Biden leads in the majority of swing states, most of his leads are within the 4 pt margin of error. Very heavy turnout on election day could favor Trump, and switch those numbers. But it still does very look good for Biden. If he holds HRC states and wins NC, WI, MI, and AZ he gets past 270. I just don't want to get overconfident.

The bigger concern is whether all the mail-in votes will be counted.

If Trump wins then 99% of the current pollster should close shop.

If you read articles about the rallies, you learn that they are sort of like Grateful Dead concerts. There are people who travel around from show to show. Yes, of course locals come out because its always exciting to see a president of the US live and in person, but a few thousand people at a superspreader event is not the same as ensuring the millions of votes needed to win a state or country.

Bernie also had a lot of packed rallies. Biden won the nomination. I think you can read enthusiasm into those rallies, but not necessarily numbers.

Anyway, all we can do now is one last GOVT push, and hope.

No Bernie did not have a “lot” of “packed” rallies, at least by Trump standards. Trump had four rallies yesterday in PA alone. There were 57,000 people at ONE of them.

Bernie had nothing of the sort, ever in his wildest dreams.

57000 people at a rally during a pandemic? Thanks for reminding me that the Republican Party is a death cult.

Do you honestly think Biden could pull 57,000 people at a rally if covid didnt exist and things were normal? Color me skeptical.

True, Biden doesn't tend to attract "lock him up" fanatics.

Probably. But remember, Biden isn’t a cult leader. Dems don’t need to hear a dear leader speak for validation about our choices. Backing Biden isn’t a lifestyle and we aren’t defensive about backing him. We know he’s a good guy and don’t need to be in a political rally to feel good about supporting him. Unlike Trump voters who need group validation for backing a crook, a liar, a rapist, bigot, white supremicist, tax cheat, etc...

Really? Obama sure could draw some crowds back in the day. I'm sorry that same enthusiasm just isn't there for your candidate this year.

Go start another thread. This one is about polls.
