Meghan and Prince Harry are moving to the U.S./Canada - OFFICIAL

That's how the (evil, fake) tabloids have put it. Kate was also pretty displeased.

That doesn't explain Meghan's behavior, flying back to Canada solo and being on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Taxes work differently for those with diplomatic status.

I know from experience.

Meghan and Harry would be paying both UK and US taxes if they were in London or if they were in Vancouver or if they were in LA.

The Murdoch Sun and the Rothermere Daily Mail are poisoning British minds against her.

More evidence you can’t have a functioning civil society if you allow rightwing billionaires to buy and fund media and use that media to spread hate and division (ultimately in order to get votes for tax cuts).

This is true. Murdoch dominates Australian news as well, including making it impossible to deal with climate change or empower the national government to fight bushfires. Those millions of burning acres are being tackled by almost exclusively volunteer, state (not federal) firefighters. It's absolutely insane. The oil and gas industries have a stranglehold on Australian politics thanks to Murdoch's news orgs.

Is that what they've shown?

One thing they've shown is that marrying Americans just doesn't work.

Winston Churchill's mother was American. So was Princess Diana's great grandmother, whose American-made wealth saved the indebted Spencer estate.

The question is - what will Harry's new title be. In addition to President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust and HRH The Duke of Sussex.

I don't think Governor General of Canada as Trudeau would have to nominate him. Not that Canadian PM seems at all opposed to that.

In what way is this a win? They are still fully within the household in this plan. Meghan wants to run a high profile foundation and have a branded makeup or clothing line, not do the royal thing but abroad.

Why don't you read the original post that started all this. I won't make you go through the 200+ pages of threads but the haters insisted Harry be stripped of his HRH, his title, his funding via the Duchy of Cornwall, yada yada.

Looks like he's getting exactly what he wanted = a foreign home base in North America AND keeping his position and role in the royal family while traveling in support of Her Majesty The Queen and establishing 'financial independence' for his family.

Best of both worlds.

But that is surely dependent on exactly how much of a royal he will remain, doesn't it? If he takes a full-on royal role stationed abroad, he is still subject to all the rules and restrictions that a senior royal deals with. He certainly can't make his own money or monetize the connection. He can't take commercial ventures on. He can't brand or sell anything. He is still on the job. I don't see how this is "financial independence" - you are basically a foreign service officer.

FSOs can have private businesses FYI.

But you keep saying 'He can't' when his grandmother is the freaking Queen of Great Britain. Whatever she says he can do, he can.

We'll see what they announce but I expect it'll all be out by Wednesday or so.

When she inevitably launches Part 2 of her plan which includes dumping dim Harry and keeping Archie abroad (she's way too smart for him, she brought the monarchy to its knees with threats. She must already be bored stiff..he'll have nothing left to offer) Harry will be a total outcast, never welcome in Britain again and his family will despise him

He just might be the dumbest man on Earth.

The Queen moves way too slowly for all that.

She'll be dead. King Charles III will be reigning and he has no cause to move against his son.

Especially if he wants to keep William in check and he also needs SOMEONE who can work. Anne is 70. Edward is 56. Andrew is like 63-ish.

That leaves only William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan. George might be all of 12 when Charles takes the throne and the other cousin royals Charles has been adamant will not play a role since the 1990s - Louis, James, Eugenie, Beatrice.

Oh you meant Meghan.

Maybe but honestly I've never seen a couple more in love. I think they'll give it a good go.

You have to have a fierce passion for a partner to not only defy her family but his as well.

She didn't have any family to defy.

Young people hardly know who Diana was btw.

Right? And they certainly don't remember her history. If she hadn't died when she did, she would not be remembered the way she is. She was on the fast track to being seen as a floozy shacking up with random rich guys floating around on their yachts in the Med looking for the next Mr Right. People were watching the downward spiral. And she was younger than Meghan is now when she died.

I don't think that's accurate at all. In that last year or so, Diana was really coming into her own, and it was exciting to see. Public opinion was pretty polarized in favor of Diana and against Charles (and Camilla) at that point.

Well his grandmother has shown that she has a set of opinions on how the freaking royal family ought to behave itself, and I don't think selling lipstick is a part of it.

The fling with Dody didn't really do much for her.

Call me when Meghan starts selling lipstick for personal profit.

Here's a hint though - she's already into fashion collections as a royal. They all survived.

In fact, so is the Prince of Wales and all the profits are going straight to his foundation. Again...everyone lived.

+1. She has shown she is an evil snake. She's gorgeous, smart as a freaking tack, manipulative and evil. Her mixed heritage is the least of it. What? We aren't allowed to call it like it is just because she's half black? Give me a break! She is far more privileged than you and I will EVER be. She is a nasty narc and I almost want to do a slow clap. I am impressed she might pull off her plan perfectly. This is more entertaining than any movie. Seriously, you have to admire her chutzpah. Agree with the Bezos poster, he is due for an upgrade! She's going to rule the world. She's a modern day Helen of Troy! And she is totally up for criticism..that's the life of a public figure...a life she chose and dreamed and schemed for long before Harry.
