Because with a Trump VP candidate like this, there is no way they’re winning over any undecided votes.

I remember 2016 too well to form such a strong declarative sentence but I feel pretty much the same way. Setting aside all serious discussions and seizing on one of those small things as emblematic of his larger problems: what the hell kind of American doesn’t have donut preferences? “Whatever makes sense.” Have you never eaten donuts? Do you not ever buy them for your staff? You don’t know what your assistants like?
Somehow that little thing drives home the point that he’s essentially not human, and that Donald Trump’s picker is so far out of whack that couldn’t sense this strange boy’s off-ness says it all about Trump and his current inability to function. Once upon a time Trump had a rat king like ability to read the room.
Harris said it best, Trump is not a serious man because a serious man would not have picked such a weak vice presidential candidate. I feel odd saying this, but if he really wanted to win, he would have picked somebody like Nikki Haley, who has broader appeal. Politics aside she is smart and capable, and definitely knows how to connect with people. The more I watch a Vance, the bigger the head scratcher is for me.
