This is with no promotions of this song in Korea. Dynamite won a bunch of weeks in a row without Korean promotions either. For context, there are 6 major music shows in Korea - Music Core (which is where they won #1 this week), Inkigayo, Music Bank, SBS The Show, M Countdown, and Show Champion. Music Bank, Music Core, Inkigayo, and M Countdown are the big ones though. Butter isn’t eligible on some of the shows because they all have different requirements and some require the artist to be actively promoting the song with live performances on the music shows. So it can’t win The Show or M Countdown because they require performances. Anyway, it’s a big deal to win #1 on a music show, it shows that you’re a top artist and is used as a barometer of success of sorts for new artists to see if they’ve really broken through to the next level of fame. For BTS to win with their English language song that they’re not even actively promoting shows they’re still the most popular group in Korea! |

Not BTS but is anyone watching GMA? TXT is on and they have an English language song too! I don’t follow them too much but I know they’re BTS’s junior group. They seemed to have multiple members who were at least passably fluent in English during the interview.
I can’t believe I’ve been following the ups and downs of K-pop for over 10 years and now I’m enjoying this moment of multiple groups performing in the US and having mainstream exposure. It’s crazy! |

I have loved BTS for about 3 years, and have been watching TXT off and on since their debut. I really like their songs and their dancing is also good! Yeonjun’s look is amazing, he’s like a model. |

I don't know if I'm in the minority but I am a bigger fan of Run BTS than their performances!
I mean, I do think they are great singers and dancers but omg their Run BTS episodes are hilarious, I don't understand what they're saying but once the subtitles are in I usually replay the episodes multiple times. This group is one of the best things I've discovered during the pandemic and I'm SO grateful they've kept my spirits up during the past year. |
