This is with no promotions of this song in Korea. Dynamite won a bunch of weeks in a row without Korean promotions either.

For context, there are 6 major music shows in Korea - Music Core (which is where they won #1 this week), Inkigayo, Music Bank, SBS The Show, M Countdown, and Show Champion. Music Bank, Music Core, Inkigayo, and M Countdown are the big ones though. Butter isn’t eligible on some of the shows because they all have different requirements and some require the artist to be actively promoting the song with live performances on the music shows. So it can’t win The Show or M Countdown because they require performances. Anyway, it’s a big deal to win #1 on a music show, it shows that you’re a top artist and is used as a barometer of success of sorts for new artists to see if they’ve really broken through to the next level of fame. For BTS to win with their English language song that they’re not even actively promoting shows they’re still the most popular group in Korea![/quote]
