You don’t think it would be dangerous for kids to be alone upstairs with access to a deck? Seems way more dangerous than their current setup. |
So drywall over the doors to the deck, like they drywalled over the set of doors in their (current) master. Or block access another way until the kids are older. I agree with PPs that layout would make much more sense. |

Sherry has been manic as F for the past year.
I am still of the camp that something happened or she wanted something to happen with the contractor Sean or whatever his name was. First it was all about that John model look alike and then she latched on to that contractor and paraded around Cape Charles in her swimsuit all summer. She even called him to look at properties before she called her own husband and told him about some. She is always wanting hte next thing and seems exhausting to live with . She latches on to something and it is her new ride or die. First the color pink. Then curly hair. Then opposums. Then shrimp. Then cheese. Now trees and FL.
I agree. She is exhausting. Her voice makes me crazy - it's a combination of manic adult and thirteen year old Valley Girl.
or astrology. She’s now obsessed with astrology, plants and crystals. She seemed to let go of the white animals. |
She has been extremely defensive about the house and move lately. They must be getting a lot of messages questioning why they did this. |
I agree. The layout is awful. The kitchen is way too small and dark. The largest room in the house seems to be their bedroom. The kid’s bedrooms are super small. I don’t understand why they don’t have their bedroom upstairs because that seems so much smaller. It’s very awkward space up there. I hope when they build the guest house off the pool that they move their office in there, so they have move room upstairs. I was also thinking that since they are no longer adding the bathroom on the patio that maybe they could extend the kitchen into that space? I also thought maybe they could add the kitchen and dining area upstairs since their outdoor deck is enormous. They could maybe extend and add steps leading to the pool. Then they could have a nice sitting area on the first floor a f maybe an actual closet!!!! |
They started freelancing in 2014 when they stepped back from blogging everyday. Freelancing is not new. |
There are no stairs to the upper deck. Their office and bedroom needs to be up there |
There is no way it’s worth putting that much money into this weird house. |
Their April Fools subscription box was pretty funny. For a brief second I thought she truly lost her mind and immediately thought of this thread. |
lol OK thanks for the pep talk - I didn't expect my post to stop this thread obviously....But yes let’s just never point out something we feel is wrong because not 100% of the world will listen. ![]() Also I think your last statement is pretty irrelevant since I really could care less about how they handle criticism or and that’s not my problem. It was the obsessive investment DCmoms seem to have in the mental state, life choices and afterschool schedules of total strangers that was so baffling to me….People who are happy and fulfilled in their own lives don't tend to hate follow when they can't stand someones voice or what they have to say....they UNfollow so byeeeee ![]() |
They don’t even post that much. How can you diagnose Sherri as “manic.” You need a life girlfriend. |
Instagram stories. |
I used to read their blog listened to the podcast and follow their instagram stories.
I love this thread b/c I had no idea how many people hate watch their lives. I have to admit Sherry's voice was irritating on the podcast. I found myself annoyed at her confidence when I felt her taste level was not great and she'd speak with so much authority. Anyway, I love their stories/updates and I love this mean-girl thread. It's like two sides of a coin. |
Which is why they should have put the kids bedrooms upstairs and moved their bedroom to where their daughters' room is. |
Me too!! I really thought they were going to buy a house in the FAN and fix it up and sell it or turn it into a long term rental. It seemed like they had a lot of fun doing their Cape Charles houses and I liked following along with those, even though I disagreed with some of their quirkier design choices. It was fun to read along with though. This new house - their decisions are just cringe-worthy. (As was their April Fools "joke". Ouch!!!) |
