So drywall over the doors to the deck, like they drywalled over the set of doors in their (current) master. Or block access another way until the kids are older. I agree with PPs that layout would make much more sense.

I agree. The layout is awful. The kitchen is way too small and dark. The largest room in the house seems to be their bedroom. The kid’s bedrooms are super small. I don’t understand why they don’t have their bedroom upstairs because that seems so much smaller. It’s very awkward space up there. I hope when they build the guest house off the pool that they move their office in there, so they have move room upstairs. I was also thinking that since they are no longer adding the bathroom on the patio that maybe they could extend the kitchen into that space? I also thought maybe they could add the kitchen and dining area upstairs since their outdoor deck is enormous. They could maybe extend and add steps leading to the pool. Then they could have a nice sitting area on the first floor a f maybe an actual closet!!!!

There are no stairs to the upper deck.

I think they are well aware of that and its besides the point. Of course they are opening themselves up to criticism by putting themselves out there but just because we all CAN doesn't mean we all SHOULD. I was so disgusted when I accidentally stumbled upon this thread and how invested so many people are in ridiculous things that are one of their business or concern.

What about the risk of having a mom who is so great that she spends her spare time on a mommy blog speculating, gossiping conjuring up conspiracy theories and belittling people they don't even know...

What about a mommy who spends her spare time reading mommy gossip boards and actually posts messages to the other participants belittling them?

And FTR, I'm a new poster and haven't read any of this thread except the few posts above mine. I do that sometimes for threads I don't initially click on, if I keep seeing it over and over and it gets really big I'll click on the last page just to get a sense of what's being discussed.

Well perhaps you should dive a little deeper into the awful things that have been said before jumping in and defending them then. I was taught to call out bad behavior when I see it and stand up against bullying and teach my children to do the same. Not to jump on the bandwagon just regardless if something is "public" or someone is a celebrity/influencer.

Ok. You've called it out. As you can see, the thread just keeps on rolling. As you said, just because someone CAN take your words into account... doesn't mean they will. Or even that they SHOULD.

Really, reconsider your emotional investment in total strangers. I haven't really participated in this thread and have never followed this Instagram account so I'm not even sure who this Sherry person is. Just saying, don't put your family out on the internet to make money and expect total positivity.

Also I think your last statement is pretty irrelevant since I really could care less about how they handle criticism or and that’s not my problem. It was the obsessive investment DCmoms seem to have in the mental state, life choices and afterschool schedules of total strangers that was so baffling to me….People who are happy and fulfilled in their own lives don't tend to hate follow when they can't stand someones voice or what they have to say....they UNfollow so byeeeee

I used to read their blog listened to the podcast and follow their instagram stories.
I love this thread b/c I had no idea how many people hate watch their lives. I have to admit Sherry's voice was irritating on the podcast. I found myself annoyed at her confidence when I felt her taste level was not great and she'd speak with so much authority.
Anyway, I love their stories/updates and I love this mean-girl thread. It's like two sides of a coin.

Honestly, I loved their Richmond house. Being in northern Virginia with kids, their house seemed like the perfect house for a family. And there was room for a pool. Obviously they wanted this particular area in Florida but it was a strange move.

Me too!! I really thought they were going to buy a house in the FAN and fix it up and sell it or turn it into a long term rental. It seemed like they had a lot of fun doing their Cape Charles houses and I liked following along with those, even though I disagreed with some of their quirkier design choices. It was fun to read along with though. This new house - their decisions are just cringe-worthy.

(As was their April Fools "joke". Ouch!!!)
