OMG... the irony. ![]() |
You're a very angry person, aren't you? Kind of pathetic. |
Ding ding ding! We have a racist! |
Well said. I would also add that OP does not seem at all bright. |
I see. You read a response you don't like and consider it the work of a "troll." Gee, where have we heard that before? Oh, right! Every single day on DCUM. Yes, sexual crimes are real and absolutely to be taken seriously. But I will never choose to live my life as a victim, cowering in fear of what could happen. The wonderful women in *my* life don't consider themselves "victims." I'm sorry that yours (and you, of course) do. We don't feel that every man is out to get us or that our lives are eminently threatened every time we walk out the door. It must be very distressing to live like that, and I'm sorry for you. |
DP. What on earth are you talking about? Links?? Here's mine - and she's doing nothing of the sort, you liar. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/betsy-devos-its-time-we-balance-the-scales-of-justice-in-our-schools/2018/11/20/8dc59348-ecd6-11e8-9236-bb94154151d2_story.html?utm_term=.859d197e05ff |
Not the PP, but really - who cares what you would think about the PP? Or anyone else, for that matter? Do you care what we think about you? |
Are you the "friend to men"? You realize in your effort to sound all brave and such you just made my point for me, right? You choose not to cower in fear of what could happen? Then why are you cowering in fear over the possibility that a man in your life *could* be falsely accused of a crime? That is MUCH less likely to happen then that you, as a woman, could be the victim of harassment/assault/rape. (I hope to God you never have been and never will be.) Yet here you are worrying about something statistically far less likely to happen if you are worried about the men in your life. You can't have it both ways. You are trying to sound clever, but you make no sense at all. This is the reason these "defend the men" posts seem trolly to me; not because I don't agree with them, but because they are nonsensical and seem purposely over the top in order to trigger a response. Men should be protected under the law absolutely; I have never said otherwise. They are already amply protected in these cases and history is on my side with this one. Women need to be equally protected. Apparently, you don't feel that way, and you are bizarrely smug about it. You make my skin crawl. |
No, I don't. But the PP I responded to seems to care how people react to his/her being a former Republican. My point was that not all people are hung up on whether or not someone is a Republican. For many, it is more about difficulty understanding support of the current administration. If you don't care, you can opt out of this thread instead of wasting space. |
You cite an opinion piece by Devos herself to make your argument? You have no business calling anyone a liar. Here's an opinion piece for you. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/posteverything/wp/2017/09/08/betsy-devoss-title-ix-interpretation-is-an-attack-on-sexual-assault-survivors/?utm_term=.fbbd9a0f2930 |
+1. Dems spent decades being the anti-black party, and now are the anti-white party. Must be a habit of mind. |
I consider myself anti patriarchy. That mostly includes old rich white guys. It doesn’t make me anti-white. |
In many places the patriarchy is old rich black guys. You are anti-white if you target just a group based on their race, while ignoring the others. |
Sorry, you’re not relevant anymore. Must be painful. |
Please look at the current members of Congress. How well does it represent the citizens of the US in terms of gender, race, and heritage? 50.8% women? 13% black? 18% Hispanic? If not, there are more old, white guys who need to be kicked to the curb. |
