At this point, I think summer rosters are already locked for 2024s on the other major club teams (Madlax, VLC, Crabs, DCE). Unless you're okay with him playing for a B team, which isn't a bad idea if you are new to the area.

All clubs will make room if the kid is good enough and vlc and crabs are too far from Bethesda.

How is the PG part of NL doing?

How good is the 2021 team vis a vis DCE, Madlax, VLC and crabs?

It’s hard to answer questions about how one 2021 team stacks up against another. At the high school level, these teams almost never play each other head to head. If the metric is which team wins more tournaments, that’s often an apples or oranges comparison as not all tournaments are created equal. If the metric is number of college recruits, Madlax, Crabs and VLC when all is said and done will have 15-18 players commited. I predict DCE will have a good number, but nowhere near those numbers. NL will have a fraction - maybe only 3-5.

A friend's kid is on one of the teams. They are dissatisfied overall, but that may be more about being on a B team. Still, the perception is the partnership is just to get a handful of raw athletes from PG County onto NL teams.

Wow, that is not a very accurate statement and could be misinterpreted. Maryland is a lax hotbed and maybe PG is under represented but the PG Pride teams from last season were well coached and played a smart level of lacrosse. They had some big and small kids and were just like any other team. NL is adding more resources. Describing that team as a bunch or raw athletes is insulting at best and maybe worse. The team had the most knowledgeable coaches in the area last season so they should not be RAW unskilled players.

You clearly don't know how to read nor did you watch PGLC last year. The coaches are great guys, but the product was pretty bad because those kids clearly didn't have much experience or coaching coming in. It doesn't mean they won't get eventually.

Second, you missed the point that was made by the PP. He was saying that NL basically took some of the promising PGLC players (read: athletic and mostly raw and inexperienced) and that the kids at the NL B team aren't very good - made up for the PGLC kids who weren't picked plus some NL B kids.

He didn't stereotype that all the PGLC kids were projects. As far the PGLC coaches being the "most knowledgeable coaches in the area" not sure how you can say that since they are recent college grads.

Whatever. You are almost saying the same thing. NL grew and now has 2 travel teams. One is better than the other. Maybe they aren't the most knowledgeable coaches but they have nice playing resumes.

and that helps teach kids how?

Just because someone is a great player doesn't mean they like or know how to work with kids especially kids who don't have a lot of experience.

Okay you go get a dad coach but I'd rather have IAD and his staff.

+1 just arguing to argue.

My son's very good friend plays on NLPG 2024 Team. According to him, that team is a complete waste of time. IDA not IAD, is a really nice guy, but terrible as a coach. But I don't think you can completely blame him. He was the only coach for that team. The PG25 team has 3 coaches, but for some reason, this team only has 1 coach. Don't believe me... check out their website and you will see that he is the only coach listed - All other teams have either 2 or 3 coaches. They did have another guy help out (college kid)... but you never knew when he would show up. Since they practiced in both PG and Bethesda, the other guy would only show in Bethesda (if he showed at all). Also, heard that Isiah is not coaching the team in the winter and is not sure if he can coach in the spring/summer, since he will be too busy playing professional lacrosse. Stay away from the PG teams. Like all B teams, this is just a way to make money.
