They didn’t. Won all 4 games at Elite 80. If you look at Inside Lacrosse online, they did a write up on the event and called out a few players. Sounds like a really impressive group. They win a ton of high level/NLF type tournaments, can’t deny that. Prob a top 2 or 3 team their age in the country based on who they have beaten and what they have won.

I think there is enough talent for both NL and DCE to succeed going forward. There is so much more talent than ever before. The bad teams w/in each club has more to do w old ownership (NL) and being new (DCE) than anything. And I say this as a father who has a son who has played for both. Good people building good programs.

2 good clubs in southern moco is better for everyone.

Wrong, dad. There is not enoihh talent in MoCo tonsupport teo great trams in the same grade. NL should try to push hard to take advantage of thr bad press and greed surrounding DCE. People view DCE are scumbags for what they did to Bullis, so NL should try to capitalize.

Agree. If Moco really wants a long-term program that can match Madlax and VLC, they need to somehow consolidate talent into a single team.

OP here. I didn’t say you could have multiple “great” teams in the same year. I said that both programs can succeed and be good. If you look around, 2018 and 2019 Madlax has best teams, 20 is NL and 21 is DCE. All the other teams at each of those programs vary from flat out stink to decent, including Madlax and VLC (who I haven’t seen at a really strong/high level tourney in years). I don’t think this is an anamolyie the great teams are at different clubs at different years. Long Island clubs have some great teams certain years, then some so-so teams others (91, LIE, PrimeTime, Igloo) Same for Philly and Baltimore, based on my experience of a couple of sons.

As far how people view DCE, I don’t have a horse in the race as my son didn’t make a team there. But I will tell you they had a ton of kids trying out at multiple ages. NL was about the same. So I think people are just trying to find a right fit for the kids. What did or didn’t happen w Bullis has made zero difference w the people I know who have kids playing at that level. Opportunity to play, as opposed to sitting on bench, and then playing at best tourny’s are the drivers.

DCE 2021 is the real deal.

DCE as an organization is all about DCE 2021.

Once DCE 2021 commits, that'll be it for DCE.

Next Level just has to play the waiting game before picking up the remnants of DCE. They should conquer MoCo within 2 years.

DCE only won 1 game last weekend and got shellacked by the Tomahawks. Probably still a top 10 team. But nowhere near best in the country that some boosters were claiming.

Yep, got smacked by Tomahawks during fall ball on a field no one could even stand on, nevermind run. Missing 3 of the top 4 middies, couldn't even run EMO correctly.

Giving you the Tomahawks (who actually took a beating by Igloo the game before). Name someone else you would put ahead.

Btw...anyone else win two major tourneys like Crabfeast and NLF Championship over the summer?

Crabfeast, NLF and Big 4 don't qualify as a big events? Guess you nothing.

Can someone give me a rundown of NL teams from grad years 21-24. I’m looking for a new club for 2 boys and trying to figure out where to go.

Would like to know if they played and won any tournaments last summer, how they did in Lesgue play and level of coaching. Thanks.

Just t be clear, it was a 3 game showcase and DCE went 1-1-1 with a win over Primtime and tied Igloo last weekend. Still took it on chin against Tomahawks, but wasn’t a tourney and went 4-1-1 in 2 showcases this Fall (other event was Elite 80 showcase and team event on LI). Not the best Fall for sure, but not terrible either.

The field conditions were that bad? Anyway, they played well last summer and am sure they will play well this spring when they've got all their players.

Looking for some feedback on the Next Level 2024 team. We just relocated to the Bethesda area and are looking for a local club for our son. Thanks in advance.
