Same. I'm 5'9" with an hourglass shape and when I was very skinny and fit I could wear a 10. I can wear a 12 when I am in a healthy BMI. Currently a 14/16 and working to lose weight. |
This is me too. Except I have small shoulders but big boobs. My bmi is right in the middle. I have been called thin, perfect, curvy, and asked if I was pregnant when I was not. I consider myself very average. Not fat, not thin. |
Yes |
I'm 5'9" and pretty fit. When I was a 12/14 I was definitely fat. No question. At a size 10 (and 165 lbs) I could still lose 10-15 lbs but am borderline normal. |
I'm late to the party but size 12 is definitely fat, unless you're over 6'. |
That makes zero sense. If you were fit and 138, it means that you have a ton of muscle. Muscle takes up a lot less space then cat, so how can you possibly be a size 12? |
I'm size 12 on top and 8 at the bottom. I don't think I'm fat, but I have always wanted to be smaller, even when I was 6 on top and 2 on bottom. |
Yes, size 12 is enormous, even if it's 12 TALL. |
No |
I'm a size 6, and sometimes I look in the mirror and think I'm fat. |
You have to go by weight/height and bmi to answer this. But the average sized woman at 5'4 wearing a size twelve? Yes. |
OMG people. did you ever think that a size 12 might be that way because of wide hips? I am constantly told I am thin, but then people are shocked when I say I'm a size 12. I can't change my bones. |
I used to be a size 14 (and probably pushing it) - I'm an athletic and fit size 4 now. I can say I definitely used to be fat.
However, I don't go checking people's tags to see what size they are, before judging (in my own head) if they seem fat. It depends on height, build, etc. Also clothing makes a big difference. |
This. Theres a huge difference between a size 12 woman who is 5'11 and one that is 5'4". Clothing doesn't matter. |
165 is a normal BMI for 5'9" ... and likely a size 10 or 12 depending on the individual and the cut of clothing. |
