Shut down remittances and stop El Salvadoran banks from engaging in dollar transactions. No problem. Take all of 10 minutes. |
This does not apply to Garcia, who is not Venezuelan. |
The article doesn't apply because itis talking about a discrete group of 238. |
And yet, we're still paying them to imprison him. Our mistake is not their problem. It's our problem, and we can easily fix it. Just watch. |
Just stop with the nonsense. If Trump wanted him back, he would just have to ask. You seem to think Trump is useless, but I have confidence that his art of the deal skills will work with his best friend Bukele. |
Here is some very easy math for those of you in the last row: Since the vast majority of the Venezuelans sent to CECOT had no criminal records and zero links to gangs, they would never be tried, much less convicted and put in a US jail, whatever the cost. $25K per person is a lot more than the $0 |
We are not paying them to imprison him. |
Another case, another judge ordering Trump to "facilitate the return of another shipped of to CECOT pursuant to the AEA. Two big differences.
1) She ordered the government to request that El Salvador return this guys; and, 2) She's a Trump appointee. "Like Judge Xinis in the Abrego Garcia matter, this court will order defendants to facilitate Cristian’s return to the United States so that he can receive the process he was entitled to under the parties’ binding settlement agreement,” she wrote. “This court further orders that facilitating Cristian’s return includes, but is not limited to, defendants making a good-faith request to the government of El Salvador to release Cristian to U.S. custody for transport back to the United States.” Gift Link https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/us/politics/deported-migrant-el-salvador-trump.html?unlocked_article_code=1.CE8.iKCo.rVKsJ1I9wvyb&smid=url-share |
Do you remember when we had a strong president, like Biden? Now we have this beta boy that can’t even recover a prisoner that we are paying for. |
But all of that totally misses the point!! So what if he’s a MS13 member? Was just listening this morning to NPR and they were crystal about the real issue which is he didnt get due diligence. |
Again, flip it. El Salvador demands we send his Wife to El Salvador, and if we refuse, they will retaliate, you ok with that? |
Repeating it does not make it true. He had 2 hearings and lost both. Is that not due diligence? How many chances should he get? |
Not sure how you aren’t following. PP had said we have jurisdiction in ES on this issue because of payments, but then it was pointed out that the contract is for a totally different group of people (Venezuelans) so actually no, we don’t. Stop listening to biased NPR. This man was seen by multiple courts and had plenty of due diligence. The issue is simply an error in destination, not that he had authorization to stay in the US. |
Those hearings had nothing to do with his deportation pursuant to the Alien Enemy Act. since the administration chose to use that, they chose the rules. And the rules say he needed to have provided, minimum, notice and opportunity. The courts all agree. Up to and including the Supreme Court. And the administration agrees. With respect to what the agreement with El Salvador covers, we do not know. No one has seen the agreement and all we have are vague statements from an administration who refuses to comply with discovery orders and generally is telling everyone and their uncle to FO. |
Please stop spreading misinformation. Garcia was not deported under the Alien Enemies Act. He was removed under title 8 of the immigration and nationality act. |
