Just more people who are susceptible to click bait. The law in question has to do with family law and artificial insemination and making language clear when it comes to same sex couples. Rage bait and mouth foamers fall for it every time.

You think Ritchie Torres is a mouth foamer? Uh, okay.

He is if he's continuing to spread misinformation. This change was absolutely necessary to protect lesbian mothers but sure...instead of clarifying he posts in a way that gives it legitimacy for the mouth foamers.

So yeah.

Okay, you can take that approach. See how far it gets you.

So no wording should be amended to protect parents because right wing mouth foamers take stuff out of context, amplify it,. misrepresent it and promote fear based hate around the lie?

I would suggest dumb people like you who refuse to be educated and admit you were wrong are the problem.

But I see why you wouldn't want to admit you were wrong about this case because it shows how gullible and easily manipulated you are. That is a hard pill to swallow.

It’s so weird how far leftists immediately classify any opinions they disagree with as “misinformation.” I’m sure you know better than Ritchie Torres. 🙄

Man, you are in such a cult. There is no reasoning with fanatics, I guess. I just wish you weren’t going to take down the Democratic Party with you.

Step outside. Go for a walk. Call the inseminated person from whom you were extracted and wish them a good day. But gain some perspective please.

No we classify clearly anti-factual dribble as misinformation. The fact that you think opinions carry the same validity is what got us here.

THIS. Opinions are not facts. Beliefs are not facts. Anecdotes are not facts dispositive of anything beyond the anecdote. Talking points are not facts. When you pass these things as "facts", yes, you will be called on misinformation. What you may have is a difference of opinion but you don't have the truth of factual support on your side.

One is too many. It is unfair, unsafe, and a slap in the face to women. And, a violation of Title IX.
It is interesting that she is choosing this as a hill to die on. It is NOT a popular stance.

This from Feb. 19:
A transgender-identifying male, competing under the name “Katie,” from Cumberland’s Greely High School, came out on top in the girls’ pole vault competition on Monday during the Maine Indoor Track Meet at Bates College.

The student is a biological male who previously competed in boys’ pole-vaulting as a mid-level athlete. Since identifying as a girl, “Katie” has been allowed to compete against female students.

At Monday’s meet, “Katie” jumped 11 feet, a mediocre score for boys, but within just one inch of Maine’s girls’ pole-vault champion, who set an 11-foot, one-inch record last year at the National Pole Vault Summit.

He jumped a full eight inches higher than the second-place winner among the girls.

The student’s participation in the event came in opposition to an executive order issued by President Donald Trump earlier this month threatening to pull federal funds from schools that allow males to compete in women’s sports.

🙄 yes, pp. we know about this incident- it’s the reason for the whole thread. This issues wasn’t plucked out of thin air. It’s all based on the track meet.

Right. So then you have the governor of Maine defying an EO to defend the grotesque spectacle of the track meet, in a state that is struggling financially. And the federal government is threatening to withdraw funds because of her defense of something that is extremely unpopular even in her own state. It makes the governor seem like a religious fanatic. Trump, who should be coming off as a horrible bully, is seen instead as protecting a struggling state and the girls in it from a religious extremist.

As a lifelong Democrat, sometimes I think the party is doomed. This is not the behavior of any politician who wants to win an election. It is the behavior of a cult member who is willing to destroy the entire party on the altar of her cult beliefs. When you have someone as vile as Trump appear to be the one who is on the side of justice and fairness, you’ve lost the plot.

The amount of Dems who have MAGA beliefs and use MAGA tells is staggering.

It’s not MAGA to want the Democrats to win again and soon. I know you are a cultist that would prefer the Democrats to lose perpetually so that high school girls can continue to stand beneath boys at track meets, but that is an extremist cult belief.

Winning is not everything. I want a country that is fair for everyone, regardless of gender, religion, or other beliefs. As a grown woman who has lost to men in many ways and who has no transgender child, I still firmly believe that all natural and legal rights should be equally accessible to all humans. I do not want my party or any other party to deviate from this fundamental belief just to win. Politics is not a sport; politicians should not enter politics merely to win. They should be driven by conviction and a commitment to making life better for all citizens.

You don’t want a country that is fair for everyone. You want a country that embraces and codifies male supremacy. And that’s what you are getting, unfortunately.

The Democrats used to be the party of fairness and making life better for all, but they’ve instead become the party of the elite, devoted to propagating a deeply misogynist belief system. Those who want a party that actually makes life better for all citizens won’t find that in the Democrats any more.

Exactly this. I don't understand why Democrats keep doubling down on having biological males in women's spaces, including sports. The misogyny of Democrats is a big reason why they lost in November. When Republicans look like the more sane party, you know you have completely lost the plot. Progressives are the gift that keeps on giving to the GOP. An issue like this is guaranteed to play poorly in rural and small town Maine. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Americans have said a hundred times that they don't agree with Democrats and their insistence on equating biological men with women. Maybe Democrats ought to try listening to voters.

You keep spinning the narrative. It is REPUBLICANS obsessed with this issue and who want to act as cruelly as possible. They are the dumba$$ sheep to are sucking down the BS fed to them about what sort of problem this actually is.

I, for one, will not cater to third party bigotry. If that ignorant person in all white rural middle-of-nowhere doesn't understand that or understand why they are, in fact, bigots, at least i can live with my own integrity.

No, it’s major Democratic politicians across the country that are driving this. Come on. We can see what the politicians are actually doing, you know. DCUM’s blue cultists are really something else. They refuse to see anything the Democrats are actually doing.

Also, male supremacists should not be using race and class as insults. Speaking of bigots.

It’s going to continue to push more people to vote for Republicans. Normal people hate trans nonsense.

DP here. If you're not calling out "misinformation" from your own side (because you agree with it or the point it supports), then you're not objective and have no business accusing those you don't agree with of spreading misinformation.

Didn’t Democrats learn last election that Americans have no desire to watch boys take girls’ medals in sports? I’m serious. I really thought this was obvious by now. At this rate, GOP will be in power for the next decade.

Your fanatical cult beliefs are not “facts.” That is exactly why we are in this position. Just because you believe your evangelical beliefs are incontrovertible facts does not turn them into such. You are as fact-based as a fundamentalist Christian who believes the world is 6000 years old.

Apparently not. They are doubling down.

Of course there is this insanity, so apparently the Democrats never want to win again:

There are 42.9 million teenagers in the U.S.

Number of transgender athletes in the NCAA: fewer than 10

This is not a problem that needs addressing. It affects very few women!

It affects us all.
