The point, which is not ridiculous, is that any attempt by the President to cut federal funding in Maine unless transgender athletes are restricted from playing sports would be illegal and in direct violation of court orders.

What is ridiculous is Trump still going on about that Olympic boxer WHO IS A WOMAN.

Why are conservatives so hot and bothered over this one non-issue? Don't they understand that they are victims of conservative polls and focus groups? It's a dog whistle for hate and it's ridiculous.

Trans people make up about 0.1% of the population, and I honestly do not care who participates in what sport. I have a daughter and I don't care if she has to compete against a trans athlete. I watched my sister lose a final match to a MTF trans athlete, and my cousin didn't care so I didn't either.

He’s such a thug. For those who didn’t bother to watch the video, this is where he threatens the Maine governor. he’s sitting before a room full of governors and is talking in a casual, unscripted way.

He asked Mills, who attended Friday’s event, whether she would direct her state to follow the order.

“I’m complying with state and federal law,” Mills responded.

“We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get federal funding,” said Trump.

“See you in court,” Mills said.

“Good, I’ll see you in court, I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one.”

“Enjoy your life after governor,” Trump added, “because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.”

How is this being a thug? He was at a governor's meeting and he asked a simple question. Of course the Trump administration is going to sue if a state doesn't comply. They'll win, too.

Percentage of teens in Maine who identify as transgender: 1.3%
Percentage of teens Nationally who identify as transgender: 3%
Of the 3% who play sports: 40%
Percentage of transgender teens who play a sports: 1.2%
There are 42.9 million teenagers in the U.S.

Number of athletes in the NCAA: ~500,000
Number of transgender athletes in the NCAA: fewer than 10


This is not a problem that needs addressing. It affects very few women!
