Talk of potential government shutdown?

The CR passed the House. Now they are going to recess.

We'll see what the Senate does. If the Dems say No, then the government will shut down and the Republicans will have to learn how to compromise.

You have a lot of faith in Senate Democrats. They won't do anything but put out some moderately worded press releases.

The Democrats will not save us. We're on our own.

Still no explanation of why the DC funding poison pill was in the CR in the first place. And it looks like the amendment failed so...it's on purpose?

Of course it’s on purpose. They don’t have a decent bone in their body.

The House spending bill also has a provision that disallows the House from voting on Trump’s tariffs. It actually takes away that right from House reps.

This will be the basis upon which the Dems filibuster the spending bill and shut down the government.

It's not even about decency-- it's truly evil. It does nothing for nobody. It saves no money. It's just inexplicably evil.

It would be a shame if the DC poison pill passes. Probably won’t get approved permits to start construction on that NFL stadium. Maybe St Alban’s and other private school building has technical fire code issues and the schools needs to be shut until construction can address the problems.

Maybe we need to do road work in front of Scott Bessent’s Georgetown house for the next 6 months.

Lots of stuff can happen.
