A woman who dates / marries so called high value male (ie hypergamy, or finding the “provider” type, insist on men paying for dates, searching for males with higher income, higher status, etc etc) is a prostitute. Not really. You can feel genuine love for a wealthy and successful man. The sugar babies usually don't feel that.

I'm a somewhat wealthy and successful man and I've never had a sugar baby, but I did date a much younger woman for a month or so who seemed to have some tendencies in this direction. We had a ton of fun, but she really wanted me to take her on a trip overseas. She worked for a bit company and made a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year, but she measured my appreciation of her by how "well" I treated her. What she really wanted, though, was a stable husband who would give her happy kids.

This younger woman seems correct in her approach though - a man’s wallet is where his affection is. Men are incredibly transactional themselves and measure everything in money and power
