To the poster who said she can't get out of bed because she thought Dave Grohl "was a wonderful man, a man who could be trusted, a role model," why does cheating erase all those things? Some people, like me, and who knows, maybe his wife, don't see the world and relationships in such binary terms. Things aren't so black and white when it comes to monogamy and biology. People aren't perfect, his wife was well aware of his flaws and accepted him. Maybe this transgression is a bridge to far for her. Who knows, but the public pressure that this is such an unforgivable act is bonkers to me.

NP. I’ve heard of wives choosing to be in open/semi-open marriages but not choosing for their spouse to impregnate other women. At a bare minimum he is extremely irresponsible.

Very true. But he's an admitted heavy drinker (alcoholic?) and has openly admitted to living the lifestyle of a rocker while choosing not to use condoms. She knows the man she married. She can be equally frustrated by the extramarital child while thinking, eh, another day in the life of being Dave's wife. Eh, I don't think it's about saying open marriages are common or mainstream. It's about saying that a women married to a drinking rockstar is not a damsel in distress who believes her husband is traveling the world and drinking heavily while remaining faithful to her. It almost feels to me like the people painting her as this devastated, downtrodden woman are calling her stupid. Like she's some trad wife who sat at home batting her eyelashes while Dave Grohl walked all over her.
