Eh, I don't think it's about saying open marriages are common or mainstream. It's about saying that a women married to a drinking rockstar is not a damsel in distress who believes her husband is traveling the world and drinking heavily while remaining faithful to her. It almost feels to me like the people painting her as this devastated, downtrodden woman are calling her stupid. Like she's some trad wife who sat at home batting her eyelashes while Dave Grohl walked all over her.

You are saying that you would be ok with your dh cheating on you and having a baby outside your marriage. Notice no one is saying she is a weak flower! But, even strong people can be devastated by betrayal. Until they announce that they have an open marriage it is assumed that it was a traditional marriage in that they both said they would 'forsake all others' and not have children with other men or women.

Very true. But he's an admitted heavy drinker (alcoholic?) and has openly admitted to living the lifestyle of a rocker while choosing not to use condoms. She knows the man she married. Dave was always playing himself as a 'devoted husband and father' so I don't know why you are putting the blame on someone else. No one forced him to take his clothes off and have sex with this woman

I know cheating is on the married man but I can’t imagine how someone will put their body through pregnancy and childbirth for someone’s husband. And it’s always “getting rid of the baby is a sin” as if getting your back blown out in an affair isn’t.
