I wasn't surprised she went back to him. She's always been obsessed with him. After all, she has dumped 2 serious relationships to be with Ben.

Almost 20 years later in 2021, she dumps A-Rod to be with Ben. After only 3 months of getting back with Ben, she moved across the country from Miami to LA (and dragged her kids with her + enrolled her kids to be in the same school as Ben's kids) to be closer to Ben.

And she still wanted to marry him after their cancelled 2003 wedding. Even after she found out he cheated on her with strippers days before wedding. She's never acted so nuts about any other guy she's previously been with.

But how does Michael Vartan fit in there? Supposedly Jen G left Foley for Vartan. Was that relationship just to coverup her relationship with Ben? I don't think so.

Garner is messed up too, perhaps less so than Jen and Ben. She let her longterm stable relationship fall apart to bolster her ex husband who cheated on her and left their family.

According to In Touch, not the most reliable of sources. The most consistent thing about Jen G is that she is really devoted to her kids. She knows that Ben’s sobriety is a huge positive for her kids, one of whom is just 12. She has put up with a ton (that drive through photo- legendary), and no doubt sacrificed opportunities personal and professional *for her kids’ dad*

I don’t think Jen G wants to be with Ben romantically, but she’s definitely very committed to supporting his well being.

I doubt we will get much information and it’s going to be a boring divorce, which is great for them but not so much for gossip. If we have to go back and fight about 2002 it seems pretty silly.

I will shout this from the rooftops --a woman compromising herself, her relationships, and her kids' stability to support the antics of an addict (Ben doesn't act sober) is NOT behaving in her kids' best interest. Although Ben's sobriety is a positive for everyone, Garner is not responsible for it. She needs to provide a safe place for them away from the Affleck-Lopez circus.

Ben can call his sponsor for support.
Ben can see his kids another time, after he gets more balance.
Garner is codependent.

She very clearly cheated on multiple relationships, just like Ben and Lopez, and chose to have kids with a known addict, including a last-ditch bandaid baby. In a highway to hell sort of way, yes. AdA seemed to make him genuinely happy, but she knew enough to get out of that web of dysfunction. I like her and am glad she moved on.

I don’t know how any mom who would want her daughter to go back to the guy who dumped her 72 hours before the wedding. Ben humiliated her.

It’s because he’s the one that got away. For a woman who never hears No and has anything money can buy, the rejection is something that stings and intrigues her. He starts off the same way: romantic and then once he has them in his clutches, he turns to rejection.

Garner said this about Affleck: “When his sun shines on you, you feel it.But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
