Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
So you’d prefer more Rs focusing on making it illegal to be trans, arresting women who have abortions and re-rewriting history to make it look like white people are the victims. Yeah, that’ll fix everything. |
Omeish, hush |
When you juxtapose Rs and libs, you lose credibility. Try Rs and Ds or conservatives and liberals if you don't want to sound like a partisan hack. |
Exactly. I have friends with trans kids and it makes me fuXXing sick to see them treated log dog sh-- by republicans. These are people, for god's sake. And no danger to anyone. I'll not cast a vote for bigots. Plain and simple. |
It’s the Democrats who have made trans rights the only issue that anyone can ever discuss. Case in point. And history is far more complicated than a simple narrative about good (minorities) and bad (white) people, although you (and others like Frisch, Meren, and Omeish) appear to believe otherwise. Opposing that simplistic narrative in favor of teaching both the good and the bad about our nation’s history is a good thing. It’s time to restore some balance to FCPS. |
Do you have any idea how long it took to get Title IX--which includes women in sports? How is it treating girls fairly to have transgender girls competing in sports? This is not a clear issue. Not only that, but there is no clear definition of what a "trans" person is. Is a "gender fluid" person trans? Can you be "trans" one day and back to biology the next? Are you "trans" if you tell your teachers you are? Does wearing a dress make a boy a "trans girl?" I don't know the answer to these questions. I do know that the questions confused the issue when the girl was assaulted in Loudoun County. I think FCPS has --unlike your comment about dog ----bent over backwards to give the trans community everything it has asked for at the expense of those who have concerns. Every child should be treated compassionately--but not at the expense of all the others. The mainstream also deserve compassionate treatment. |
The Ds are entirely the same as the Rs. They ban books on transgender topics. https://reason.com/2022/07/18/when-harry-became-sally/ "Amazon's decision to stop selling the book shows the pressure platforms are under to reject speech that doesn't conform to progressive orthodoxy." |
See above - when Harry become sally for one example. |
Look at the pot calling the kettle black - seems like the left is just as dramatic. |
DP. I do care - but I feel we are in the minority in this area - which is the truth. I'm hoping everyone else remembers the only reason our kids went back to school 5 days a week after over a year is because the VA legislature had to CHANGE THE LAW to require 5 days of school. The law in the state had to be changed before the FCPS school board would send our kids back full time. That is so just so crazy. |
Oh please- the other party's platform consists largely of "Here's a list of things you have to think" or you lose your seat at the table. |
Actually - I was trying to be kinder and not throw all Ds under the bus - just the progressives. But sure - we can say all Ds if you want. They're the ones enabling it from the left. |
Confused as to why you think it matters at all whether a teacher is a Republican or Democrat, as that has zero to do with the question and teachers have ZERO influence on the curriculum, policy, law, etc. Nothing. The question was not about you and your answers are irrelevant. I'm a teacher and a democrat and my "views" have nothing to do with my teaching. Hard to believe you are actually "loving," though, since you take the time to vote for hateful politics like anti-gay and anti-immigrant policies. |
Amazon is a business. Not an elected politician. |
Specifically, who do you think is doing this? |
