Thoughts on MC Elite?

Spring was a s-show. All
Of 2030M left. 2030c on a combined team. Coaching turnover multiple times per year between A and B. Didn’t play nearly the amount of time we were promised when committing.

This post should be deleted as it is not the reality. There was not coaching turnover. One coach had a baby and the other is a HS varsity coach therefore there was a coaching team for a period of time, and remember this is 5th grade. With a daughter playing in college and fully knowing the situation, parents actions r unjustified. Combo teams happen across the club landscape. In this situation it was unfortunate players who committed did not show up, but this also leaves room for guest playing for girls on A team and younger players. Spring season is just one piece to puzzle and by no means is one factor of succees. Promised is an immature statement as the club season is not even over. This type of parental behavior never works and in the end hurts the player the most. Leaving when the summer was planned with such specific attention to the teams development/responding to what the team wanted is disgraceful.

You’d have a point if a few girls left before the summer but when an entire team leaves together it can’t be that all of them are crazy parents. They had a winning team last year, due to coaches changes and lack of a winter season they had a losing team so they all left together for another club. People vote with their feet.

“Rmember this is 5th grade” kind of tells you all you need to know about how much the club really cares about the players and families. Nevermind the total lack of accountability for anything that has gone wrong and total deflection of fault and responsibility onto parents and kids.

Again 5th grade, part of development is wins and losses and learning from other coaches, pivot, it was not a complete coach change - lies. The winter season was parent-led, did not give the club a chance to do what it was suggesting, so maybe that is why the girls did not do well in spring. I heard they left for a club with no track record in the DMV, led by a bully with $. Look at the big picture, is MD men's lacrosse now bad because they lost the Big10 championship and in the first round of NCAA's?

The gaslighting going on is remarkable. Just like I heard that at the parent meeting last night there was talk of “no parent coaches”, while a parent was coaching a team not 10 yards away on the same field as the meeting. Don’t believe what you see, just believe what I say.

MC Elite 2030 Midnight parent here. The way our girls were treated by the coaches and club this season was UNACCEPTABLE. That’s why the TEAM is leaving. Not just a few parents. The TEAM. I want a refund on principle but lucky for MC Elite my spouse wants to let it go. I’m so pissed I’m literally going to have a bonfire with all the branded crap we bought for this club. Bye, MC Elite.

Another MC Elite 2030 parent here. The above is 100%accurate. The bonfire will be fun

The irony is that, across the age groups, the 2030s were also the most “successful” MCE team on the field this spring with 3 wins.

Parent coaches all around this club! I know of at least 3 MCE teams with parent coaches- 2029, 2028, 2032/33.

Which, taken alone, is totally fine. I have seen some phenomenal parent coaches at clubs over the years. But just be upfront about it and not lie saying that there are no parent coaches and try to push that as a selling point. How can someone believe anything they say, if the club leadership lies about something that is easily and visibly disproved?

Absolutely will not take this post down. 5th graders should just accept this behavior when paying Mc elite all this money!? Why, because they are “only 5th graders”? An entire A team left because the parents are crazy? A B team hasn’t had players to field a team practically the entire season? Winter league costs additional money sprung on parents when they were told to sign up for winter league? Fall plays that never happened even though in commit letter? Summer tournaments that likely won’t happen because the league is falling apart? No communication from their admin? This post should be taken down because the club season isn’t even over? What’s left? Maybe we could get geared up and in our car to drive an 1:20 min and then get a EMAIL that we are forfeiting? Give me a break “this post should be taken down”. I’ll join the bonfire with the “crazy parents”.

I think the “no parent coaches” rule is that parents can’t coach their own child’s team… not that they can’t coach in the club at all.

Look at the names and the rosters for 2029 and 2028 on the website. They definitely match up and coach their own children. Both coaches for 32/33 have also have girls on the team.
