No I don't think anybody, even if they go to Harvard, can listen to a doctor or scientist and discern if they are just a quack or a fully informed person.

Freedom of speech does not protect dangerous language.

So who gets to decide who is a quack vs. a fully informed person? I thought the problem was that there are "idiots" out there who are uneducated and will fall for anything. Now you're saying we can't let anyone in society, educated or not, talk to any other person, educated or not, unless both people have been vetted? Do we all have to sit inside our houses, not talk to each other, not go to the library, not use the internet, not watch TV - just sit in our chairs and get direct messages from the government, and that's it?

Stop speaking truths here! I love how you killed the thread with this piece of truth, PP. Well done!

Given the amount of misinformation circulating about public health issues (and more) it's disgusting that Spotify is PROMOTING him.

You know what else is circulating? Plenty of information from Fauci, the CDC, etc. Anyone who listens to Rogan has undoubtedly also heard from the CDC that the vaccine is safe and that they should get it. So, why are they turning to Rogan? Do you really think all these people were on their way to CVS and then heard this Rogan podcast and turned their cars around? I doubt it. The vaccine has been available for over a year now, and this podcast just came out in December. If someone hasn't been vaccinated yet, it's not because of Joe Rogan.

Has Rogan ever had Fauci on? Or anyone from NIH or the CDC? He seems to have all sorts of questions, why not get someone on to answer them?

He did have Sanjay Gupta on recently. I don’t know why anyone from CDC hasn’t been on his show. I’m sure Fauci wouldn’t come even if asked.
Besides, why do we need an interview with Fauci? We have all already heard him talk for hours! We all know everything Fauci has to say about Covid.
And the premise of your question still seems to be that Rogan and his listeners are misinformed and if they could just hear Fauci talk (as if they haven’t already) then they would have the facts and make the “right” choice. But that’s not what’s going on here. Rogan isn’t ignorant or misinformed, and his viewers aren’t either. They just don’t trust the government and get very suspicious when someone is silenced, like Robert Malone was.

He also had Dr Osterholm on at the beginning of the pandemic. He is on Biden's covid advisory committee. Rogan asked both good and stupid questions. But it was that episode that helped me understand how the virus works and what to expect.

I don't understand the opposition to Rogan.

Things have changed so much with this virus that yesterday's "truths" are today's disinformation.

The reaction to speech you find incorrect, inaccurate, or repugnant shouldn't be to shut it down. It should be debate. More speech. Counter the arguments made by those you disagree with.

Maybe you have been fortunate and not have a family member influenced by irresponsible nonsense like all the anti vax people he gives a platform to sore their nonsense.

Do you have any unvaxxed family members dead of covid? I did not think so.

Spotify shouldn’t promote jackasses like JR who push misinformation.

“ “People say, ‘Do you think it’s safe to get vaccinated?'” Rogan said. “Yeah, I think for the most part it’s safe to get vaccinated. I do, I do. But if you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, ‘Should I get vaccinated?’ I’ll go no.”

“Are you healthy?” Rogan said on the podcast. “Are you a healthy person? Like, look, don’t do anything stupid, but you should take care of yourself. You should – if you’re a healthy person, and you’re exercising all the time, and you’re young, and you’re eating well, like, I don’t think you need to worry about this.”

JR has no medical trainng or experience to be giving out advice on infectious diseases to his listeners. Anyone that gets such advice from JR is a fool.

Spotify shouldn’t be prominently promoting this jackass.

After reading through many pages of this discussion, I still don’t understand what the misinformation is. I guess I’ll head over to Spotify and check out the episode. Which one? Or has it been removed?

Seems as if you are not giving the American people any credit in their ability to think for themselves.
