The Gilded Age

OMG! I was digging around on the internet and discovered that the actress who plays the delightful Mrs. Bruce also played Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird! Mind blown!

Lots of musical theatre stars in the cast.

I am in it strictly for the costumes at this point.

Downton Abbey was filmed in real places, not just large, very obvious sets - and it had real dialogue, not whatever it is they're doing on the Gilded Age. It annoys me SO MUCH, and yet I will continue watching.

It’s okay. Definitely watchable. Some actors are horrible though:
- the interim lady’s maid
- Streep’s daughter
- the female news reporter
- the one-time drunk head butler
- the Duke
- Cynthia Nixon

Some are good:
- clock fixing servant
- grouchy servant who doesn’t like the news reporter or the clock fixer
- the gay son/banker
- the minister

I find the clock fixing servant to be SO annoying! Mainly it's his pursed lips and horrific Brooklyn accent. And you left out Nathan Lane's aka Foghorn Leghorn's character. He is appallingly bad, accent and all. I can't believe they have allowed him to continue in the role.

I used to find the clock servant annoying but he’s grown on me. Foghorn never will. He’s horrific in the role.

It’s so bad, and yet I kind of love it lol. It feels less like a TV show than watching a drama class presentation, with mostly bad students doing little scenes.
George Russell, robber baron, backing down to the union at the end had me howling.

Yes! Even the dour Armstrong, played by Debra Monk:

The casting of Gladys is so off. Larry looks like he could be Bertha and George’s kid, and the three of them are striking and sexy, and then there’s Gladys.

I don’t mind The Gilded Age

A show I hate watch is AJLT

I thought this too. But both Kelli O'Hara and Ward Horton are 47.

The dog playing Pumpkin is definitely one of the Top Five best actors on the show. What a good girl.

She looks like Consuela Vanderbilt

Meryl Streep’s daughter is clearly a nepo baby getting this role. She looks right but is so boring, no emotions or feeling, she just doesn’t draw me in at all.

Which one is Meryl Streep’s daughter?
