College of the Holy Cross?

Top 25 maybe. Top 15? Probably not. I think HC is a great school, but it is behind Williams, Amherst, Wellesley, and Smith — so 5th — in Massachusetts alone. In my head I easily came up with 10 SLACs better than HC if we had a proper ranking system, not even including the military academies. Heck, there are 3 in Claremont, CA alone…

Seems like this HC thread jumped the shark a while ago.

HC is a top 15-20 school. Smith has no business being in top20. Smith has large endowment but who goes there now. It’s not Wellesley.

Another delusional HC booster.

Smith indeed might not be in the top 20. But it is better than HC. What does that tell you?

I would give the edge to HC over Mount Holyoke, though.

For the class of 2027 Smith received 9,800 applicants and admission rate of 19%. For the class of 2029 Smith had 8,100 applicants and admission rate of 21-22%. Don’t see a lot of females flocking to Northampton. HC keeps growing its application and they have more upside. Colgate had a drop of 3,000 applications for class of 2029.

Again, HC is giving application waivers left and right and there is no supplemental essay, so there's that. Sounds like Northeastern's tactics if you ask me.

Is this the HC admissions office speaking?

Holy Cross is known for being pre-professional. Lots of doctors, dentists, and lawyers. Know several of them.

I love how this thread just won’t die. Keep it up and stay strong HC boosters (and haters too)!

HC is perhaps the most unique SLAC. Largest enrollment at 3,300, Division1 sports, Jesuit affiliation, not in the middle of nowhere. Finally a great successful alumni network. Can’t go wrong with Holy Cross.

Not the largest SLAC. Bucknell is 3,800.
