DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Anonymous
What some people don't understand is this fact.

Next year, a kid who is a young 03 will be looking to join a combined age group team. That young 03 could be almost three years younger than the oldest 02. Its a tough hurdle for a younger 03 just to make a team full of older 03's.

If you look at a lot of "good" teams, they are typically stacked with kids who are on the older end of the age group. They were the kids that benefited from the age change. The younger kids skipped an entire year of soccer and are now looking to find a way.

USGDA does not to make its own U16 group in the DA...but they wont.

They still train as DA...just playing in EDP for the time being.

So this will take the place of the NE Pre-academy league? http://www.nationalpremierleagues.com/northeast-pre-academy-league

Pre-Academy League is part of US CLUB carding system - same as ECNL. EDP used to be part of US CLUB as well until this latest news. They are now part of USYSA and thus a competitor to both ECNL and Pre-Academy League.

This is just a rebranding of the Eastern Regional League (ERL) and a parking lot for younger age payers in combo year for DA to stay on the pitch. Now it will have DA teams along with the ERL type teams all jumbled in one big mess.

Not true. Maybe some clubs, but not all. Man you are worse than a politician. By the way, not all best players choose to play DA, only some do.

No, read the press release. It is for U16. Now could this then develop into a regional pre-academy league for the GDA clubs? Maybe, but for now it is being set up specifically because the clubs would like an attractive option to keep those girls on who do not make the combined U16/17 team.

This will, in all likelihood be a one year only thing until ussf splits out u16 and u17 next year. It is merely a way to keep the bottom half of this combined age group in the system and paying dues. Where is moneygrab guy.

Name one club that has or had both DA and ECNL where ECNL wasn’t the B team? You can’t because it doesn’t exist. Tool indeed.

And why would USSF split out the u16/17 age groups next year or in the future? Combined ages have been a part of the DA since it started.

If I hear one more VA resident complain that their are too many quality clubs with quality training for girls I might just blow my top. Seriously, you folks have access to ECNL (McLean, Loudon, VDA and BRYC) and DA (Arlington, WS and FCV). Folks in MD are struggling. Bethesda is the only club serving MoCo and NW Washignton. WS is a logistical nightmare (practices at SoccerPlex and in HoCo/BaCo. MUFC serces everyone else. If not for the disaster that is the AL bridge, most of us would check out the VA clubs and some do but stop your complaining. You have so many options it is insane and I am tired of the complaints.
